Pirates of The Caribbean on synth

Davey Jones theme from Pirates of The Caribbean on synth

This is Davey Jones’s theme which he plays on an organ in pirates of the caribbean, played on my synthesizer :)

Also, If anyone has tips on putting sound and video thats out of sync back into sync please share your information :)

P.S. also notice my Synth’s trademark discombobulated middle E note, sometimes it gives a nice edge to my synth making it sound old and wobbly like an old record but when you dont want it to sound like that its a problem… I need an external “KCV” (Keyboard Controll Volatge; I think thats the correct term)

Got a tip on Facebook of this really nice song with YMO. Definitely one of my old time favorites

Strange to see sakamoto-san on drums, but then again i’m sure the ‘roles reversed’ was all part of this video :)

Seabound have started the work on fourth studio album

January 16, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Seabound have started the work on fourth studio album

The duo have once again entered the studio together and a new album is in the works, the bands 4th, but at this point no title can be revealed nor any release schedule. The duo report that the first larger studio session is complete and the first couple of songs is near completion.

One reason for the lack of new material or updates from the band is that frontman and singer Frank Spinath been working Edge Of Dawn and new creation Ghost&Writer together with The Weathermen-founder Jimmyjoe Snark III.

The last studio album “Double-Crosser” was released back in 2006 followed by the Live-release “Come Forward” (2008) and rarity EP “When Black Beats Blue” in 2009.

Covenant inspired by the Road (Modern Ruin)

January 13, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Covenant inspired by the Road (Modern Ruin)

David Bowie did it, the Nine Inch Nails did it and now Covenant has done it. The Swedish EBM act has made a song inspired by a Hollywood movie. The genesis of their track “The Road”, which appears on their new album “Modern Ruin”, was the Viggo Mortensen movie of the same name.

For those who don’t know, “The Road” stars Mortensen (pictured) as a father who struggles with his son to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. The 2009 film was adapted from the award-winning novel of the same name by Cormac McCarthy, whose other book “No Country For Old Men” later became an Oscar-winning movie starring Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem. The film is an interesting choice of inspiration for Covenant’s music, who follow in the footsteps of NIN, whose 2005 song “Only” was inspired by “Fight Club”, and Bowie, who penned his classic hit “Space Oddity” after watching “2001: A Space Odyssey”.

“Modern Ruin” was slated for a 2010 release, but was delayed until this year. They released the “Lightbringer” EP – itself a track on the new LP – last October (you can order it below) to give fans a taste of what “Modern Ruin” will sound like. Released via Synthetic Symphony/SPV, the record will hit shops in Germany on Friday, the rest of Europe on Monday and the US (via Metropolis Records) on 8 February. Nice stuff. It’s just a pity that SPV, for some obscure reason, never sent a review copy to Side-Line. Crisis? We asked, but never got any reply. If that’s the new way of doing promo, it will be a great year!

You can order the album right here on iTunes and don’t forget to get hold of the “Lightbringer” EP (direct link on iTunes). In Germany, the album is already available here on Amazon.

Dpoint are back

January 1, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Dpoint are back

Swedish synth band Dpoint are proud to release their new album “In memory of the voices no longer in our heads”

So, in the last shivering minutes of 2010 (it is actually 2011 in some parts of the world already!), Dpoint would like to summarize the year that is soon nothing but history, but also we’d like to take a look at what’s ahead of us for 2011.First of all, we’ll remember 2010 as the year “we put the band back together”! Although we never quit the band, the Re Union Day Concert in April was our first concert in close to 20 years! An amazing crowd of old and new friends turned up, and it was indeed a Re Union in the truest sense of the word! Robert was stuck in Paris due to the Icelandic volcanoe ash and had to participate via Skype, but hey, this is 2010, and technology is great!

Secondly, we released our first official recordings in 24 years (!) as we released the single Disco Bitch on iTunes and Spotify, and during the summer months, we also created a whole range of new material that during the autumn and winter turned into a full length album.

Also, as a result of the great Re Union in April we hooked up with several old friends from the local synth/electronica/pop scene, which inspired us to go even further in creating new material and exploring new ways to bring our ideas out to the our friends and the occasional fan!

All in all, 2010 may go down in history as the most interesting and exciting year in the long history of Dpoint, so with that in mind, we have a challenge to make 2011 even better! But we need your help to do that, and as a starter, we have three things already planned for 2011.

First, we have the release of our new album, “In memory of the voices no longer in our heads”. The album will be available on iTunes and Spotify on January 15, and we are very keen to get your feedback! Secondly, to celebrate the release of the album, we are inviting all our friends and fans to the Virtual Release Event that marks the release of the album. It will be a streamed event, entirely via the internet, and we hope that you will hook up, invite your friends and have a good time with us! There will also be a photo contest together with the release event, so make sure you have your cameras available when it starts! Thirdly, the Re Union Day Concert #2 will take place in April, and that is an IRL event, so make sure you pencil that into your calendars! We hope that we’ll be joined by at least one or two more bands, to make it as great as last time!

Well, that’s about it. Take care on New Years Eve and make 2011 a great year!
