SuperCollider is an environment and programming language for real time audio synthesis. You can write programs to generate or process sound in real time or non real time. SuperCollider can be controlled by MIDI, the mouse, Wacom graphics tablet, and over a network via Open Sound Control. SuperCollider can read and write sound files in AIFF, WAV, Sound Designer 2, and NeXT/Sun formats.

Every sound in this demo is from Kicker. The track was recorded using 8 separate overdubs and some live tweaking. There are no effects and the only post-processing is a Limiter on the Master Output.

Zunk plays a Moog Etherwave Theremin
Richard Lainhart and Thomas Zunk perform live at Avantgarde Festival Schiphorst 2010.
In this free improvisation, Zunk plays a Moog Etherwave Theremin with a variety of processing pedals, and Lainhart plays a Buchla 200e analog modular synthesizer controlled by a Haken Continuum three-dimensional keyboard controller.
The musical sculptures seen in the background are the creations of Ferdinand Försch.

Motu BPM software
When Motu Released their Motu BPM software, fans were disappointed that Motu didn’t also release a hardware interface that mirrored the software’s computer-generated eye candy. But that has been taken care of now

User ssp on the MotuNation forum created his own using the MIDIbox platform. From the layout, to the silk-screened graphics, the attention to detail is amazing.
The Moto BPM software is a direct competitor to Native Instrument’s Maschine and they’d no doubt be able to pick up some fence sitters if they released gorgeous hardware like ssp has made.
MFOS modulator running Nitzer Ebb
A DIY MFOS modular – the Modulator – playing Isn’t it funny how your body works by Nitzer Ebb. The 16-step sequencer’s gate outputs trigs two ADSRs for bass drum. Clock out is sent to slave 10-step sequencer and to two ARs controlling filter cutoff and VCA. 16 step seq CV out gets patched to both VCOs. The stereo auto panner is used during the last few seconds.

Black City
Matthew Dear is one of electronic music’s great sonic innovators and impresarios, co-founder of Ghostly International and Spectral Sound (Ghostly recently celebrating 100 landmark releases), and recording extensively under musical identities Audion, False, and Jabberjaw.
