Will synthpop and EBM ever hit the scene in Second Life
Ever been to any of these cheezy live concerts in 2nd life? Well I for sure have been to one or two, but will this ever be something for the electro scene, I doubt it…
One might argue that 2nf life would be the ultimate goal for many of these futuristic, cyberspace, universe, galaxy dreaming synthpop bands like Sista mannen På Jorden, Spock, iSynthesist to name but a few, but I don´t think so, since, although futuristic/forward looking, it really feels like heading back to the nineties judging from poor graphics, lack of people, lousy animations and above all the artists already in there does not inspire anyone to get involved.
I have heard rumors that artists like Brian Eno and Laurie Anderzon had serious plans for 2nd life which would have been worthwhile considering there ability to work both as artists and musicians creating something unique that really makes use of the cyber reality. I sure hope to find a much healthier cyberspace music arena soooon – perhaps the japanese alter ego? If you look at whats out there today in 2nd life this little piece of information says it all.

New single with Elegant Machinery
New elegant MACHINERY single
The new elegant MACHINERY single is finally taking form.
The single, which is recorded and produced by elegant MACHINERY, will be mixed by Jouni Ollila (Mr Jones Machine and Pouppé Fabrikk).
The single track, “Feel the silence”, is already finished, and the bonus track, “Beautiful world”, will be mixed later this month.
Release date to be announced, but rumours has it that it will be in january.

Morgana Sampler
Interesting new sampler from 112dB, haven´t tested it yet myself, but judging from the reviews I believe it has some potential. The demo is really funky with a electro touch

EinstÜrtzende Neubauten – News brief
Came across this little nice news update about our Neubauten friends…
After nigh on 30 years, the entity, nay the beast, known as Einstürzende Neubauten has evolved into an independent being without need for any conscious effort from the five multi-talented genial dilettantes that make up its core.
Release finds bassist and musical jack-of-all-trades Alexander Hacke in a fine mood, speaking about love and magic, and a band at its ultimate productive peak.
Joining the cult
In the name of objective journalism, let’s state the facts openly before we move on. It took me a while to sign up for Einstürzende Neubauten’s supporter project. The breaking point was in 2004, when I learned that the supporters of the second phase of this subscription service were invited to a special concert in the Palast der Republik, the bronze mirrored former East German Parliament building slated for demolition. I never got over that, and for the next phase, I jumped on the chance.
– That concert was a lot of fun, Alexander Hacke remembers. I’m sad to report that the Palast is almost gone now, there is just a steel skeleton left of it and they’re wasting millions and millions of euros to break it down.

Reason Refills and more
Just thought I´d share some of my sources for finding high quality Refills for Reason. I know there is an endless line of good sources, but at least this is a start
Ambition is to post the ones that have free refills, but sometimes they will ask you to buy the whole pack, but need not worry often they´ve posted a demo refill that works equally well – at least for starters.
