As happy I am about Laibach…
…playing at ElectiXmas as cheezy I think it is to enroll OneTwo. OneTwo, who are close buddies with Erasure, still fall into that category of bands that does not have a unique style and expression, more than perhaps that they have a female singer (which is quite uncommon in the electro community).
Well I will still attend the event and definately so after Laibach came onboard however I will probably have a beer when OneTwo are playing – some kind of ugly mix of Erasure, Enigma and Kraftwerk look-a-like telephone calls – judging from their homepage at Myspace, hehe

15 DUETS FOR SNARE DRUM
Between the records “TOUR DE FRANCE” (1984) and “ELECTRIC CAFE” (1986) work at the Kling Klang Studio – being a classically-trained percussionist he tied in with his studies at the Robert Schumann institute and started to compose several pieces for percussion instruments. In 1990 the “Fifteen exercises for two snare drums” were released by the renown publisher Zimmermann in Frankfurt, appearing in the series DUO FOR PERCUSSION.
These intermediate duets for snare drum contain fifteen studies, which include the use of frequent dynamic changes, all standard meters, embellishments, and rolls of varying duration.
Karl Bartos: “The purpose of this text is to provide the intermediate student with practical duets which will aid in developing the rhythmic discipline necessary for ensemble playing.”
Nitzer Ebb on the move

Music Torrent Site Oink has been busted, who´s next
Why did these agencies go after oink first, a torrent tracker that was hosting at least some torrents uploaded legitimately by indie labels, and one far smaller and less focused on pre-release albums than bigger trackers like mininova?
As one guy says:
OiNK was very well organized and was draconian about not allowing poorly encoded files to last very long on the tracker. The high quality of the site had to be a consideration when choosing to target it. On the larger free-for-all trackers there is no guarantee of quality… you cannot even be sure you are getting what you download. When such a site is outperforming legitimate retailers of online music in quality (not to mention empowering many independent artists) it makes more and more sense why it would be targeted.
Meanwhile, oink.cd’s homepage has been replaced with an ominous warning:
This site has been closed as a result of a criminal investigation by IFPI, BPI,

Play with Rubik´s Cube
This is not all that new, some of you have probably seen this before, but I still think its worthwhile promoting again and again and again….
American/Frenchman Douglas Edric Stanley is professor of digital arts at Aix-en-Provence school of art, where he gets to build things like this sequencer controlled by a rubiks cube and there’s a playable online version. This is Douglas’ point: Most electronic instruments have a more-or-less obscure interface (lots of knobs and buttons), which can be intimidating. However, once you know what the knobs do, they’re often very simple to use, with limited possibilities. With this thing, the interface is very immediate (everyone knows how to manipulate a rubiks cube) but it’s phenomenally difficult and complicated to actually play – because every move messes up another side.
