MINIMOOG MINI-DOCUMENTARY 1970s
Follow the life of the Minimoog Synthesizer from its inception through its prolific contributions to poplular music throughout the last 4 decades.
In this first installment documenting the journey of the Minimoog synth through the 1970’s, we explore the musicians and the people that were instrumental in bringing the instrument to prominence. We also sit with one of Moog Music’s earliest engineers, Bill Hemsath, who recalls the process of the Minimoog’s birth and sheds some light on what sets the Moog synthesizer apart from other analog synths.
Doepfer Improvisation with Sample & Hold Moog Voyager

Sunday afternoon improvising a groove on the Doepfer Modular with live Minimoog. The Old School version links so well with the Doepfer Coltrol Voltages.
There is a type of Japanese painting where you paint with water on a special stone. It can look beautiful but after a short time it dries and is gone forever. A doepfer modular is a bit like that. I’ll never get this sound again – you just have to live in the moment.

Claude Debussy – Clair de Lune

This is one of the finest pieces of music ever written. It’s very cinematic and I was kinda bored on a friday night, so I decided to just make my own version of it.
It’s featuring the Minimoog model D, which has some trouble staying in tune, especially on the high notes. The Juno-60 on the chords. I ran the last half of it through this old tape deck, so you kinda get this rough tape hiss and distortion.
I was kinda inspired by this arrangement of another song.

I’ve always been a big fan of David Holmes version as well.

The Alkex Instruments MMG is a custom midi controller designed to enable the user to “feel” his or her software/hardware emulation of the legendary classic analog synthesizer: The Moog Minimoog.
Here’s what they have to say about it:
Today’s virtual instruments and their photo-realistic on-screen representations sound very close to the hardware they are emulating.
However, reaching for on-screen knobs and switches with a computer mouse is hardly an “experience”…
It’s time to take full control!
Unlike a computer mouse, Alkex Instruments will allow you to simultaneously turn as many knobs as you can reach or even share the dials with a band mate.
Experiment, forget the computer is there and let your muscle memory explore the sounds…
It’s time to FEEL your favorite virtual instruments!

Showing off some synth sounds from this legendary machine. This is to counter the notion of the Mini being a bass machine. Even though it’s often used as one…
