Tom Oberheim SEM Pro Unboxing
Unboxing video of a Tom Oberheim SEM-Pro. The song was done by me (Scott From Canada) entirely with the SEM pro (all sounds) except for the drums, which were done with the Korg M3M.
Some sounds were overdubbed a few times and of course some effects were added in the mix, but every sound originated in the SEM-Pro.
It is a VERY fat, clean and powerful sounding synth, a really nice addition to any keyboard setup. Highly recommended. I will probably use this more than the Moog Slim Phatty.

45 Oberheim SEM Sounds
I really like my Oberheim SEM. This is my second one, still can’t figure out why I sold the first one. It sounds extremely good and I just wish I had another to put in that empty slot to the right of mine. Now that the re-issue is out I just might! Also, below there is space for some patch panels to access all the goodies inside the SEM via it’s patch points. I just realized there’s room for some Euro modules too.

Oberheim OB-X 8-Voice Polyphonic Analog Synthesizer from the year 1979.
The SEM based OB-X is very different to the later Curtis Chip based OB-Xa. The Sound is fantastic raw and unique.

Having a hard time getting your friends to understand what you do?
Whether it be your kids, friends or dates in the pub one often run into the problem of describing what the heck you do when you’re in the studio playing around with your Prophet 5, Oscillators, plug-ins, mixer boards etc, than this little video might come in handy, LOL. Oberheim Matrix-12
Spent an hour in one of my fav synthshops this week and played around with an old favorite of mine the Oberheim Matrix-12 – had almost forgotten how nice it sounds – can´t remember right now which group it was that was using it the most, could have been OMD but I am not sure. About the Matrix-12
The Matrix-12, truly one of the “Monsters” of programmable analog synthesizers. It is basically two complete Oberheim Xpanders hooked up to a velocity-sensitive (including release velocity), pressure-sensitive (there were some early Matrix-12s that did not have pressure-sensitivity), 5-octave, 61-note (C-C) keyboard. With 24 oscillators (two VCOs per voice) it can be set up as a 12-part monophonic or a 6-part polyphonic multi-timbral synth. The front panel is exactly like the Xpander, except for one button that switches between voices 1-6 and 7-12.
