This is a showcase of some of the patches from the Sinevibes bank for Sunrizer. You can download the bank for free over here: http://www.beepstreet.com/horizon

Sunrizer synth (previously known as ‘Horizon synth’) is a virtual analog synthesizer that takes the definition of iOs synthesizer to the next level. Thanks to carefully designed architecture and heavy usage of coprocessor it blurs the boundaries between iOs and hardware synthesizers. Sunrizer was built to perform and works perfectly with any MIDI keyboard or sequencer. A lot of research has been done in order to achieve unheard warmth and clarity.

Background info: “Quickly patched this together to give an example for good old muffwiggler.com. Basically as long as you have a few good filters, and Formant style oscillators, you will be able to get a similar sound. Literally took me 5 minutes to get this together, so I want to see your version!”

New patches for Arturia’s jupiter-8V

May 3, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on New patches for Arturia’s jupiter-8V

Kid Nepro has released the Jupiter-8V Collection, a collection of 100 new virtual analog patches for the Jupiter-8V by Arturia.

A hot mix of 100 new virtual analog patches that will kick start your Arturia Jupiter 8V.

The Arturia software has received great reviews for its sound quality compared to the original Jupiter-8 and adding our new sounds to the software package brings out it’s best.

The Kid Nepro Jupiter 8V Collection is available as a download for $25 USD. All five Arturia V collections (500 sounds) are available in a bundle for $100 USD.

More information: Kid Nepro / Arturia Jupiter 8V Collection

Jupiter-8 background:

Roland released one of it’s coolest (and heaviest) synths back in 1981 and produced about 2000 Jupiter-8’s before discontinuing them in 1985. The Jupiter was released a couple of years before the invention of the MIDI spec and did not have MIDI included, although later models had a DCB port which let you interface the Jupiter with computers, drum machines (like Roland classic TR808) and other midi synths. Roland produced the MD8 “DCB to Midi converter” which connected everything together. There were also a few third party midi retrofits that were produced from companies like Kenton which brought the Jupiter into the modern studio.

Compared to other analog synths manufactured during that time period, the Jupiter-8 is produced with a higher quality and built to last. Compared to the Curtis chips, used by Oberheim and Sequential, the failure rate of the Roland IR series IC’s used in the JP-8, is very low and as a result many of the 2000 original units are still being used today by a wide range of keyboard players and producers. When an original Jupiter is offered for sale it still commands a hefty price and one in good condition can sell up to about $2000. US dollars.

There is only one TimbreModulator but with selectable input source: Osc 1, Osc2 or even both! Instead of the 2nd Timbremodulator there is a ‘real’ Ringmodulator, yes, the real deal as far as software can do it! The mod Oscillator for RingMod ranges from approx. 7Hz to 100Hz, so the typical 50Hz AC is possible. As RingMod generates the sum and difference of the input signals it can give quite a low punch. This one is with selectable input source: Osc 1, Osc2, plus the output of TimbreMod too! As both of these soundshapers have great capabilities to transform the signal of the oscillators they have both independant outputs and are treated as secondary soundsources.

Thus the new Swamp has quite increased sonic capabilities at this stage already. Anyway the SF2 oscilators come with 256 carefully selected waves though some maybe suited better for RingMod while others are better suited for TimbreMod.

Of course there is the wellknown resonant 24dB LowPass filter with a 4 channel adaptive mod mixer so 4 source can be mixed to modulate Cutoff. This is great to create new mixes of LFO modulations.

The output sections has increased a lot. Besides the delay there is a stereo Flanger and Stereo Reverb with PreDelay and LowCutoff to remove lower frequencies for an optimized Reverb response (use this if the rev ‘shatters’ in low range.

As Modsources there are 3 LFO, 1 S&H, 1 Double LFO with Phase shifting for one which is best useful for the flanger. Also there is a new Gator which effect can be mixed (w. optionaö modulation) on the output level so you can adjust the amount of gating on the output, with enhanced routings including modulating pan of the delayed signal. Also Aftertouch and Modwheel are used extensively as optional modsources.
