Need the real sound of bells in your music?

May 12, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Need the real sound of bells in your music?

Then this might be something right up your alley.

Bronze, Brass, Chrome, Gold, Stainless Steel, and Steel are just some of the materials that forged this library. We spent a day at one of the few remaining bell foundries in the United States and we rang bells until our ears nearly fell off. We hit them with mallets, clappers, and shook them with our bare hands. We also spent time on an old barge and percussion rental facility for rare and unusual bells.

Each bell was recorded from multiple perspectives . . . if you need a heavy attack or just a warm roomy bell toll . . . we’ve got it.

Toy Piano – new sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt

May 11, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Toy Piano – new sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt

AudioThing has released Toy Piano, a sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt.

I always wanted a Toy Piano like Schroeder’s, from Peanuts. I finally got this lovely 2-octaves upright toy piano and I could not resist to sample it and start making sound design. The sound of the piano is produced by metal bars stroke by plastic hammers, almost like a glockenspiel but more deep and warm. The Toy Piano was sampled with the lid both closed and open and percussions samples have been recorded playing the wood case of the Toy Piano with hands, nylon brushes and rubber mallets. There are also two ambient/pad/drone instruments created using samples start/loop tricks and a bunch of effects, both with a custom, tweakable, GUI.

Toy Piano features

  • 3 Round Robin samples for each key.
  • 6 Random release samples.
  • Two sample sets (closed or open lid).
  • Size: 108 MB installed.
  • Formats: Kontakt and .wav.
  • Sample resolution: 44.1Khz / 24Bit.
  • Custom performance view.
  • Bonus percussion samples and sound designed instruments.
  • Native Instruments Kontakt 3.5 full retail version is required.

AudioThing Toy Piano is available to purchase for $5 USD.

Sinori is a one of a kind percussion derived from a sheet of steel

May 2, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Sinori is a one of a kind percussion derived from a sheet of steel

Virtuasonic has released Sinori Live, a sample library for Kontakt 4, based on a brand new musical instrument, called Sinori.

Sinori is a one of a kind percussion derived from a sheet of steel, capable of producing a wide range of interesting sounds thanks to its unorthodox design and shape that allows unique playing techniques, as well as the most traditional ones. If you want more information about the Sinori Percussion, you can visit www.sinoripercussion.com

Throughout the last year, Virtuasonic has recorded two Sinori models in collaboration with its creator: a standard version (named Sinori Studio, not yet released) and a special prototype (Sinori Live). This sample library features the Live model.

Thanks to the high resolution samples recorded at 24 bit / 96 KHz and the mapping capabilities of KONTAKT, the instrument’s range has been extended to produce a wide palette of sounds that can rival other metallic percussions and bring new flavours to your compositions at the same time.

Sinori Live features

  • 9 instruments for KONTAKT 4.2.
  • 517 samples (recorded Dry).
  • Sampled at 24 bit / 96 KHz.
  • Size: 1,6 GB (compressed).
  • Up to 10 Dynamics and 8 Round robins.
  • Playing techniques: Mallets (hits, crescendos, rolls, trills), Superball Mallets, Harmonics (bamboo and woodsticks), Body-playing (flexion: center, knee, hand/top), Muted hits (woodsticks).
  • Requirements: Native Instrument KONTAKT 4.2 or later (Full version).

Sinori Live is available to purchase as a download for the the introductory price of 24.95 EUR (excl. VAT) until May 8th, 2011 (regular price 29.95 EUR excl. VAT).

Virtuasonic has also launched a special sale on other products, offering 20% off on each single sample library and 40% on bundles. This offer ends on May 8th.

Redtron_400 VST plug-in featuring the Taijiguy’s Mellotron samples

April 29, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Redtron_400 VST plug-in featuring the Taijiguy’s Mellotron samples

Redtron_SE is a Special Edition of the Redtron_400. This VST plug-in uses the Taijiguy’s Mellotron samples (taken from a 1973 Mellotron M400S – Serial #500). The samples have been cleaned (not too much) by removing an annoying 60Hz hum and some unwanted “clicks” and “pops” here and there.

Features :

– Nine sound types : MKII Flute, MKII 3 Violins, M400 Cello, MKII Brass, M400 Combined Choir, M400 String Section, M400 Woodwinds, M300A Violins, M300B Violin

– No loops : as the original Mellotron, each sound is eight seconds long with, in many cases, “the bad endings”.

– Exclusive “Mellotronic Click” switch. On real Mellotrons, “Click” can be heard at the beginning of a note, when the tape comes in contact with the replay head. These “clicks” are here randomly generated, so you don’t hear twice the same and they can appear on any key ; A rotary knob allows you to control the effect intensity (of course, you can also completely disable it ). Note : this function is inactive when the attack parameter is set to any value different from zero.

– Layer (two sounds A & B) and split possibilities (octave shift).

– Independent parameters for sound A & B :

– Volume, Tone, Pan, Tune, Reverb, Delay, Attack & Release, Octave & Note parameters.
– Delay effect (Amount, Time, Feedback & Pan parameters).
– Reverb effect (Mix, Width, Size & Damp parameters).

– Global Volume control.

– Global Tone control.

– Global Pitch control.

– Freeware.

Redtron_SE is probably the most faithful and authentic Mellotron’s emulation of all Redtron Plug-ins. Many thanks to Taijiguy and his Mellotron samples. Link : http://leisureland.us/audio/…

You can download REDTRON_SE v1.0 free legally from the official Artfake_Labs product site at http://sites.google.com/site…
