This track was 100% synthesized with a Dave Smith & Rogre Linn “Tempest” synthesizer.
“By the time i composed this track the Tempest was not fully MIDI implemented so there is only Note Triggering from my sequencer this time.
MIDI, Sampling(recording) and Mixing in Nuendo. Master in Peak with Waves and UAD softwares. The computer app. used in this production were 100% used by license. roCk and rolL”
HUBO robots perform the Beatles
Four of Drexel’s HUBO robots perform the Beatles’ “Come Together” in a demonstration that combines cutting-edge engineering technology and research with creative expression, produced by the Music & Entertainment Technology Laboratory (MET-lab). The HUBOs are operating autonomously (not human-controlled). Their movements are directed by student-developed software to perform the gestures necessary to produce the appropriate notes and beats as dictated by a musical score. Every sound in the video was performed by the robots.
MET-lab student Matthew Prockup created the musical arrangement for drum kit and three “Hubophones”, novel percussion instruments designed and constructed by the lab for this performance.
HUBO was designed and developed by the Korea Advanced Institute of Technology (KAIST) Hubo Lab (Dr. Jun Ho Oh, Director). Drexel Engineering kicked-off National Engineers Week by unveiling seven HUBO humanoids at an unprecedented showcase event on February 20, 2012. Their presence at Drexel is part of a large collaborative project with KAIST and seven other U.S. universities with the goal of rapidly advancing humanoids research.

This is a live controllerism routine. No loops, no pre-recorded patterns, just buttons, samples and a little practice.
The track is called “Waking Up” and it’s the first of my productions to be sampled and chopped into little bits and one shots for the purpose of live performance.
Buchla Boys heavy beats live patching
Part of the first set of the last concert at the 2012 Sirén Festival. This is a festival arranged by the students at the composition and individual programs at the Academy of Music and Drama, University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
Buchla Boys are David Sabel and Niklas Sjösvärd, and they’re performing on a 1980’s 5-panel Serge and a 18-size Buchla 200e, both belonging to the Lindblad Studios at the Academy. The patching is improvised, and there’s a crowd dancing behind them (too dark to film). This is part of a longer set, and there’s more photage coming, of higher quality.
This was filmed with a mobile camera.

The Casio XW-P1 is a powerful six oscillator monophonic solo synth that is ready to gig. You can combine all six oscillators to make a single tone. You get two virtual analog style oscillators, two PCM oscillators, one noise oscillator, and one external oscillator for use with line and mic inputs. Each oscillator has their own filter, portamento, envelopes, key tracking, a master resonant filter, and two LFOs. The XW-P1 is an extremely powerful synth that lets you really edit and tweak each setting. You also have access to the original CZ synthesizer’s waveforms.
