The main parameters of this instrument will not display the value and this it’s part of concept because you should judge sound with the ears not with the eyes. Modulations, envelopes, filters and FX are based on the Kontakt engine. The reverb used by REDD it’s also based on the impulse response created with Bricasti M7 V2.1 and loaded in “Convolution” Send FX slot from Kontakt 4.2 with 0 latency setting.
Currently you’ll find 92 presets in the full version and about 18 presets in Demo version.

Synth-Project presents: The MC-20 Controller – A short Overview
This video is a short overview of the functions and the handling.
First discription:
The MC-20 Controller for the iPad has a 3 Octave Full Size Keyboard. So the size of the Case is nearly 1:1 of the original MS-20 Synthesizer.
The case has a iPad Slot to let the iPad inside the Case and you don´t need any place beside the case for the iPad.
The normal parameters are controlled by the USB64 Midi Interface from Doepfer, via Knobs and pots like the real Hardware Synth. To handle the patch cords, i use the iPad. I think, this will be a good way, because the patch sockets of the App and the VST Instrument too, have no Midi CC´s.
The Advantage is, that i can use with iPad App, the Sequencer and the Drum Machine of the App too. So i have a little so-called MS-20 „Workstation“. ;o)
In fact, that the iPad is inside the case, i have a StandAlone Synth.
Search engine for finding melodies inside midi-files and PDF scores
The brilliant guys from Myriad have released their search engine Kooplet. It’s used for finding melodies etc inside midi files and PDF score files. From a note pattern Kooplet will display a list of documents from the Internet that contain this music pattern/melody. Processed file formats are those containing all necessary information to provide an editable score. For instance, digital audio formats (wav,aiff,mp3,etc) are ignored.
Kooplet will provide links to files in Myr, PDF, Mu3, Mus, XML, MXL, Abc, Etf, Tef, Nwc, Enc, Tab, Mid, Kar, Mod, S3m, Cmf, Sty, Rhp, Etf, Gp5, Gp4, Gp3 or Gtp format.
On the search result page, you’ll be able to hear the note pattern in its context. PDF files that have been found by Kooplet can be played or converted by PDFtoMusic (by Myriad), the others formats can directly imported then played, modified or printed in Harmony Assistant (by Myriad).
Three search modes are available. Search mode can be selected from the first icon in the toolbar:
– Search for pitch, regardless of the rhythm
– Search for rhythm, regardless of the pitch
– Search for both pitch and rhythm

A Monome is a well known undedicated controller much used in music. Traditionally these are an arrangement of switches and lights in a rectangular grid. This imposes a certain restriction on the sorts of interaction the user can have with the controller.
In an attempt to explore other configurations I built the Hexome, a Monome with a hexagonal layout. This project has taken almost three years to come to fruition with other Monome projects like the Mini Monome and the Econo Monome acting as test beds for my ideas, I even had to construct my CNC miller to fabricate some parts, most notably the PCB. However, it was with the help of the Manchester Fab Lab, that I was finally able to get laser cut parts to allow the keys to be made.
The Hexome consists of an arduino processor, 16 bit port expander, and three multiplexed fully dimming TLC5940 LED drivers. Each switch is illuminated by an RGB LED allowing flexibility of display colours.

New software synthesizer for the iPad
Way Out Ware has introduced SynthX, a new software synthesizer for the iPad.

Loopy 2 drum sequencer interface early preview
Early preview of Loopy 2’s new drum sequencer, built over the last three days.
No percussion type icons yet, but the rest is basically there:
– Full zoom/pan interface for use on an iPhone screen (although this was the simulator, operated with a mouse cursor).
– Two velocity levels available for each cell (127 volume levels supported in the back end, but not in the interface yet)
– 12 instruments
– Custom sound set support, so you can built your own kit from your own sample set and import it into Loopy
This is unlikely to be in Loopy 2.0, but expect it around version 2.1.

Game Informer has published a great video interview with audio director Stefan Strandberg talking about the sound of Battlefield 3. He explains the approach on the sound design in Battlefield 3, talks about the new challenges on this title and also shares some footage from a very unique recording session the audio team had.
The award-winning team behind Battlefield: Bad Company 2′s terrific sound design is back. Lead by audio director Stefan Strandberg, DICE got up close and personal with the sounds of battle during a live military exercise. Their recordings and subsequent lessons learned could make Battlefield 3 the most realistic sounding war experience in gaming.
