Web based KORG imitation
Angry Octopus released the Webotribe an online version of the soon to be released Monotribe from Korg. Check it out it works and functions just like the real thing. While your at it he also has a version of the Monotron, a 4 operator FM synth, a Nord Lead Synth1, and many more to keep you busy and have some good clean synth fun. Korg is again conspiring to use up all my free time by creating an updated version of the Monotron with a built in sequencer/drum machine. There was no way I was going to be able to resist attempting a web version of this and so here it is: The graphics took longer than I thought so the synth is pretty un-optimised and doesn’t sound any better than my Webotron. The drums are way off and it’s probably missing a lot of functionality but there should be enough to give you an idea of what the real thing is capable of.

Last Flight Out – live modular synthesizer
Live modular synthesizer.
Q960 sequencer for the bass line through a Oakley Super Diode Ladder Filter. Six voices comprised of nine oscillators and four VCF’s. Additional filters included Grove Audio PM Resonator, Q127 Fixed Filter Bank, two Oakley Equinoxe phasers and a Cyndustries Quad Low Pass Gates. Three sequencers included Q960, Q119 and STG Mini-Stores. A Yusynth Random Gates selected triggering for the percussion sounds and the high drone voice. FX included a TC Electronics D-Two delay and Lexicon MX200.
I’m handling the Q960 skip/reset points and using a Q149 Signal Selector to route cv’s for the pitch to the bass line with a Q123 Standards module for pitch/octave modulation. Almost everything else is automated and just faded in and out.

Thor’s Modulation Bus and Step Sequencer
It’s hard to believe it’s been 52 Tips already but now we’ve all got the Reason/Record chops to prove it! For those of you who have been with me since week one, I’m so proud you came all this way with me. For those of you just coming into the series, boy do you have more goodies to find in our past episodes!
In this final week’s Tip I’m going to show you around Thor’s final sections: The Modulation Bus and Step Sequencer. With these sections under your belt you’ll have completed my multi-week “Synth School” series and hopefully be able to approach custom synth sound design with a whole new bag of tricks.

Just got my Gravity Well by Circuit Abbey today. I had to shoot a video. Holy crap this module is awesome! Some real Reznor type shit! Lots of Swarmatron style sounds. all things modular are running into the Gravity Well. You can get so much out of it by just tweaking the level/bias pots! Wogglebug stepped output provides some great clicking which interupts/interacts w/ the bassline running through the Well. Rest of the drums are from the ESX-1 SD.
Block iPad dock
