Casio XW-P1 XW-G1 Moog Inspired Set
A quick information video of a new bank of sounds, inspired by the Minimoog.
It is such a classic design and sound that is still sought after today. Casio’s XW-P1 and XW-G1 while being a digital synthesizers can do a pretty remarkable job of mimicking those classic Moog sounds. The Minimoog had 3 oscillators plus a noise generator and although the XW has a 4th oscillator in its Solo Synth engine – all of these sounds were crafted with the original in mind. A set of 10 Leads and basses, the specialties of the Minimoog. Separate versions above for the XW-P1 and XW-G1.

Here is a tune ‘anode8’ made entirely of sounds from the Yamaha DX-21, RX-11, and FB-01 machines, with a classic detroit techno vibe. To keep with the period sound, he used a Realistic Reverb unit as well as a Shure EQ from the early 80’s. Sounds used include:

Suede have announced that they’ll be issuing all of their six studio albums, along with 1997’s B-sides compilation Sci-Fi Lullabies, on vinyl in a limited edition box set.
The Vinyl Collection will be out on October 21, the same day as the band release their third single from this year’s Bloodsports album, ‘For The Strangers’.
