Hands on with the Novation Bass Station II

August 28, 2013 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Hands on with the Novation Bass Station II

ProAudio creates a short track while exploring the features of the new Novation Bass Station II. Check out this video demonstrating the flexibility and mobility of this affordable digitally controlled analog monophonic synthesizer.

From Novations Website:
“Bass Station II is an analogue mono-synth based on the classic original Bass Station but re-worked for the 21st century. It has two filters, two oscillators plus a third sub-oscillator, patch save and a fully analogue effects section. Add a step sequencer, arpeggiator, full sized keys and a powerful modulation section and you have the makings of a synth that is built for bass, but capable of so much more.”

Joseph Colmenero shows you a fast and easy way to create your own custom drum sounds using the Novation Bass Station II analog synthesizer.

Making the wobble bass sound effect is as easy as 1-2-3. This is an unnecessarily long video tutorial showing how its done.

“Thank you to David at Super Synthesis for customizing my Super 37 for me and helping me to adapt my Padouk endpanels to the Super 37 without through hole mounting. BTW, the QuickLok QL-400 stand for the larger MPC series machines is a perfect fit and highly recommended for your Super 37.”

Korg Z1 chorus fun

The Z1 is like a polyphonic Prophecy housed in a full sized and featured Trinity workstation-like casing! It does all the analog sounds and more. This is a great analog modeling synth with 12-voice polyphony, thirteen waveforms, four LFOs, two resonant filters, two effects units and more. The ability to create unique sounds is endless. The factory patches could use some help, but overall the sound is very nice! It has a fully polyphonic arpeggiator that blows all others away. It has five preset arpeggio patterns and fifteen user patterns. Unfortunately there is no on-board sequencer. There is incredible real-time control available with knobs to control the two resonant filters, and a touch controlled ‘XY’ pad for tweaking patches in real-time.

Daft Funk – new Daft Punk inspired sample pack

August 27, 2013 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Daft Funk – new Daft Punk inspired sample pack

monstersounds_daftfunk

Monster Sounds has launched Daft Funk, a sample pack featuring lovingly crafted riffs, loops, beats and multi’s all busting with the distinctive bumping swagger that we all know and love as the grooving soulful sound of French electronica.

Some of the most iconic dance music of the last 20 years has come from the shores of France leading the filter electro sound, basing the tracks around a straight four to the floor groove with a heavy disco funk soul influence, but bringing a contemporary electronic sound into the mix with house production techniques and sounds.

Many of these popular releases have relied on sampling the main groove from records to capture the live feel and vibes from the original 70s and 80s classic records’ which is a risky business and can lead to long legal battles if the sample is not cleared – with Daft Funk you can avoid these hassles and get straight to the funk!

We have thrown down a huge set of grooves, from beats to bass lines, keys and funky guitar licks that Niles himself would be proud of. Mixing the full grooves together then give you the chance to filter and mash them up as if you were sampling from a record which is the key to capturing the sound of sampling records, as the way your filters react to the full loops is much more authentic if all the instruments are playing together. To give you full flexibility we have given many of the grooves split down in to individual parts also to allow you to build your own grooves.

Daft Funk is available to purchase for £29.95 GBP. Individual parts are sold separately.

Experiments In Sync Featuring Moon Modular 554 And 569

Exploring the Moon Modular, details below:

This video is in response to questions I’ve received on using the Moon Modular 554 Octal Clock Divider and related modules.

This video kept failing in the last 5 seconds when rendering, making it usable. After the third time compiling (which took 2 hours each time! grrr) I gave up and just used a re-indexing utility to save it, which worked except for the abrupt end during the fade out. Sorry about that!

The sounds of Uber Synth for iPad

August 27, 2013 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on The sounds of Uber Synth for iPad

The new synthesizer from Intelligent Gadget. Uber Synth: a polyphonic multi-timbral FM synthesizer. Its particularity is that you will be able to map any number of preset or custom sound patches to different positions on the keyboard. Note that the underlying sound engine is the same polyphonic triple-oscillator cross-modulated FM synthesizer used in the xMod. Uber Synth is Core MIDI compatible and supports MIDIRTP for wireless control. My conclusion: I really love when a developer finds a new (good) idea… And here we have one… To be able to map any preset so easily and fast on your keyboard. Great! A Killer Synthesizer!
