Time machine – Moog Prodigy
Time for a new time machine episode – A voyage into the heart of the Moog Prodigy from the year 1979.

The Prodigy was an entry-level monosynth from Moog, which has since become a very popular and widely used Bass-synth in techno and electronic music. It was designed as an affordable dual-oscillator synth. It was, however, designed without any help from Bob Moog himself. But that didn’t stop the Prodigy from becoming an excellent analog synth!
Its simple yet effective design employs two voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) with saw, triangle and pulse waveforms…all classic analog stuff! There’s also a genuine Moog 24dB / octave lowpass filter (emphasis), A/D/S envelope generator, and LFO with square or triangle waveforms and routing to the VCF, VCO or both! Even Portamento, Pitch and Mod wheels. To save money there are no highly flexible modulation routings, no on-board sequencers or arpeggiators, and a simple 32 note keyboard.

Korg MS-20, MS-50 dubs (featuring Korg Delta + SQ-10) – analog live jam
Live recorded analog jam with some Korgs; like MS20, MS50, Delta and SQ10 Sequencer. Everything is controlled by the SQ10. A 8-Step sequence on the SQ10 is triggered by a simple short rhythmic Midiloop in Ableton Live. Of course Ableton is also used for recording and processing the Audiosingals live. Some Effects where added and reprocessed while Rendering at the End

This tune by Jarre is one of the most joyful tunes in the world and always makes me smile. Therefore, I picked this one as of the very few covers I performed at my mini-tour in May 2012. This video was recorded live at my show in Doo-Bop Club, Vaasa, 12th of May 2012.
The song was performed using only analog synthesizers, either played live or sequenced. The performance was recorded line in to one of the cameras. The ambience in the club was recorded using the built-in microphones on two of the remaining cameras and mixed together with the line signal.
Equipment used in this song: Arp Odyssey Mk II; Korg Polysix, Poly 61, Mono/Poly, Micro-preset M500; Roland TR-808, Juno 60, Alpha Juno 1&2; Moog Source, Touched-by-sound DRM1, Oberheim Matrix 6R, Yamaha RM1x (only for MIDI sequencing), Behringer DDX3216, Lexicon MPX500, as well as a midi patchbay and additional preamps for my mixer. Cameras: Canon HF100 (x2), HF200 and HF406.

Its a dual oscillator real analogue monosynth and its very fat when it wants to be.
Don’t expect any musical masterpiece in this video. I am simply demonstrating the sound and feel of it
No talking and no guides. You can see whats going on clearly.
Recorded in high quality but please excuse the harmonics when the resonance goes too high.Its very powerful on this synth and the sound card didnt like it.

This is the Analogue Solutions Leipzig-S Analogue Synthesizer and intergraded analogue sequencer. This is a synthesizer with pure voice and modulation circuitry featuring two voltage controlled oscillators w/4 types of selectable sync plus glide and PWM, a sub oscillator, 4 VCA Options EG 1&2,Gate and Thru, a noise source/ext in, LFO, a self resonating 24db voltage controlled low pass filter w/tracking, several cross modulation options for VCO 1 & 2 and Filter, 2 snappy ADSR’s w/selectable MIDI Trig Switches (very good for percussion) The intergraded 8 step analogue sequencer is what puts it into a league of its own. There are 8 clocking options including LFO, VCO2, MIDI Key, Accent, Ext 1, MIDI CV-2, MIDI Sync,-. There are also destination knobs on the sequencer for VCO1 VCO2 and Filter that provide voltage controlled modulation according to the destination source and amount from the modulation section. This is a badass synthesizer that is in a category of its own.
In this patch I’m using the intergraded sequencer clocked by VCO2. The sequencer is being triggered by EG 1+2 (I’m also using the MIDI Trigger switches from Envelope 1 & 2) VCO2 is synced to VCO1. The VCA mode is set to Thru. Towards the end I started clocking the sequencer using the switch provided in the mixer section. It clocks the sequencer at audio frequencies, then the sequencer becomes an audio freqeuncy.

This is a work of fiction, it never happened in real life so no hating on how bad it is. Just messing around within the first 30minutes of me opening up the new Arturia Minibrute. Gotta say it’s lots of fun. Looking forward to exploring it a LOT more. Expect some better videos soon. There are some fun parts though in here. Youtube tells me there’s sync issues, sorry for that. Not going to fix, just going to upload more videos. This is also my first jam with the fat controller. Still learning it’s ins and outs.
I’ll tell you that off the bat it has arpeggiator issues. Be warned.”
