Kraftwerk sounding tunes from the Doepfer Dark Time sequencer

June 27, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Kraftwerk sounding tunes from the Doepfer Dark Time sequencer

An uptempo synthmusic. Again de Doepfer Dark Time sequencer with a 16 step sequence triggering the Moog LP (with the punch of the moogerfooger CP 251) and the Waldorf micro Q. The piano is a combination of the Roland E15 and the Kurzweil micro piano with the accent to the E15. Strings from the Roland Juno 106 and the Korg Lamda. Solo synth also from the 106. Some e-piano from the Yamaha DX 27. A lot of echo’s amd reverb.
The title had to do the nice wether today after a rather cold and wet period.

How the city of Eindhoven is turned into music

June 21, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on How the city of Eindhoven is turned into music

Who wouldn´t want one of these at home? A physical model of the city of Eindhoven is rolled onto a drum and attached to a piano. Buildings with each a unique form and dimension hit the piano keys. The tall buildings in the city centre have a heavy touch; the low-rise villas to the South create considerably gentler sounds.

Nice patching with the CGS01 Sub Oscillator and Harmonic Sequencer

June 12, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Nice patching with the CGS01 Sub Oscillator and Harmonic Sequencer

A demonstration of a patch involving the CGS01 Sub Oscillator and Harmonic Sequencer. It is generating the two voices heard at first. The I mixed in a few other voices coming from the Q960 and Q119 sequencers. The sequencers are shifted by the events going on in the CGS01 unit.
I recorded a tune with this patch as a basis but I thought the patch in itself was pretty fun so I made a video of it for people to see.

More cool retro C64 type synths coming your way – introducing Raider

June 9, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on More cool retro C64 type synths coming your way – introducing Raider

Raider is a 2 oscillator modulation sequencer based synthesizer. Raider allows you to modulate pitch and filter cutoff via two step sequencers. Each sequencer allows one to simply draw in their own pitch and filter modulations or use one of the pre-configured templates. Both sequencers are tempo synced and the filter sequencer can be switched on or off. Raider makes sounds suitable for techno, electro, house, breakbeat, glitch and many other styles. Sounds are remanecent of the 303 and 8-bit game sounds of the 1980’s and one can produce a wide range of sounds from FX and screaming acid leads to Arps and house grooves to percussion and a whole lot more.

Features:

  • 2 oscillators (sine, saw, square, triangle)
  • 1 step sequencer pitch control
  • 1 step sequencer filter control
  • 1 ADSR Amp envelope
  • 1 State Variable Filter (Lowpass,Highpass,Bandpass)
  • 32 presets

June 5, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Cool neon translucent synth and sequencer – Mochika XL

Definitely something for your next stage performance. Boutique synth maker AtomoSynth has introduced Mochika XL – a translucent sequencer + synthesizer combination.

Specifications:

  • The Mochika XL synth features one analog square and saw waveform VCO (voltage controled oscillator), with a pitch range, from subsonic to ultrasonic sound.
  • Glide effect with a large range.
  • One square and triangle waveform LFO (low frequency oscillator), that modulates the VCO for the vibrato effect or the VCF for a tremolo effect, creating old school arcade Atari-like sounds.
  • White noise generator that triggers the VCO and can create percussion like sounds, or mix the the noise with the VCO.
  • Built in vactrol based Low Pass and High Pass Filter with cut off and peak controls and a envelope generator with decay control.
  • Built in 8 step sequencer with global gate time control, note on/off switch and pitch slider for each step.
  • The built in sequencer also has 8 playing modes:
    • Oscillator mode, the Mochika becomes a drone oscillator, you can switch in real time between the 8 notes tweaking a knob.
    • 4 step, 6 step, and 8 step sequencer mode.
    • 4 step, 6 step, and 8 step forth and back sequence mode.
    • Random mode, it generates a large pseudo random sequence.
  • The Mochika XL features a MIDI input to sync it any midi device sending midi clock signals, the mochika can sync 1, 2, 4 and up to 8 times the tempo of the master clock midi device.
  • All the Mochika sequencer modes, except oscillator mode, can be midi synchronized.
  • The instrument is lit with 1 bright red led that indicates the LFO Rate, and 8 red leds to indicate the step that is being played.
  • The Analog Sequencer is packed in a laser cut clear acrylic case.
  • The instrument is powered directly from 110V or 220V AC.
  • Dimensions: 177mm(W), 228 mm(D), 80mm(H. included rubber feet and knobs)

8 Step CV Sequencer / Analog / Control Voltage

May 11, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on 8 Step CV Sequencer / Analog / Control Voltage

Here we have an 8 step analog sequencer that puts out control voltage. This thing mates up well with anything that takes CV.
Connect it to your Voice of Saturn synth / soundlab / Atari punk console / circuit bent projects….

This unit is based on a 555 timer chip and a 4015 dual shift register.
The 4015 dual shift register allows you to “program” or introduce more than one step at a time, allowing you to mash up the pattern and get some pretty interesting results.

In the video:

Sonic Forest + a little delay and reverb / 2 diy 8 step sequencers / LZX Monolith / Electro Harmonix Memory BoyThe Sequencer puts out 0-6v DC.
9v DC power supply is included. (Universal power supply! It accepts 100-240v)

Features:

8 pitch control steps
Master pitch which allows you to raise or lower the entire sequence together in a linear fashion.
Tempo control
On / program button
Clear / remove steps button
Off button
2 CV outs
