Sound project: Kyma Ambiences – vol. 1 [USO003]
24-bit/96kHz Royalty-free Sound Design Collection
Kyma Ambiences is the third sound effects bundle created by Matteo Milani (U.S.O. Project). The generation of these “Artificial Reality Ambiences” starts entirely in Symbolic Sound Kyma – during the development of projectgenesismovie.com – from the processing of white and pink noise by filtering – in the time/spectral domains – and convolving these sources with custom FM, additive, formant and granular synthesis. The composition’s resource of sound material is drawn solely from these processed stochastic sound elements: coloured noise is a raw material already full of life and can be sculpted into a variety of temporal forms, movements and textures. The interaction with Kyma was typical of a composer who explored a device’s potential for sound transformation like a musical instrument. The goal was to obtain an organic and acoustic quality using only a restricted sound source, in order to evoke real spatial characteristics attached to each invented sound.
The sound effects collection will be released on May 25th @ 96kHz (native), plus publishing a budget version @ 48kHz (resampled). Kyma Ambiences is not only available in these two packages, but also as dual-layer separated “Elements”, suitable for recombinant stratification, varispeed and spatial positioning in the surround field:

All of the audio files have been embedded with metadata for detailed and accurate searches in your asset management software.
As the previous libraries, loudness normalization helped me to match the gain of multiple sound files to the target level of -23 LUFS (tech.ebu.ch/loudness).

“Fair Light” – original composition by Andy Barrow on the Fairlight IOS App
Background video description:
This is “Fair Light” – original composition by Andy Barrow on the Fairlight IOS App. First attempt at sampling, sequencing and creating my own instrument inside the Fairlight App from Peter Vogel Instruments – the creator of the legendary Fairlight CMI 1 – 3. And now up for grabs is the latest CMI 30AX – upgraded from the 30A. still an expensive tool, but no where near as much as its predecessors (approx $60,000 or more… ish maybe, give or take a few cents, pennies Gold Bullion…quite a few years ago…1980’s)
So, first time at really getting to grips with this IOS App, I sampled my Voice into the Fairlight, adjusted the trim, saved the sample and imported that into my New instrument in the App, Then set about playing with Page R – yep the Sequencer. Once you get used to the way it is laid out in the app, its fairly easy to use.
Recorded into Garageband and added the Orchestra Hit as a latter addition to the track. This is available as a download from my Soundcloud Channel should you desire.
Please note, all the images were taken from Screenshots on My iPad 3 and imported into the video editor. This is an original composition by me.
If you get a feeling that the Voice beat sounds familiar, I remembered a certain group of Gentlemen, who did a Soundtrack for Ferris Bueller’s Day off…remember that.???..
Sadly I do, however, the app also contains a certain Racing Car engine sound from another Track that “Yello” Did..”The Race” yes the sound is in there…I am not going to try and recreate that…they used real Fairlight equipment, sadly I have about as much chance as owning a Fairlight as I have Angels flying out of my ass…
So, until such time that I see a winged creature of heavenly persuasion flying from the darkest regions of me, I will have to make good with the IOS App… Enjoy

New Sunday morning synth music from Covenant and Kite
Covenant “Last Dance” will be held June 11, 2013 via Metropolis Records.
Official video for Kite “Dance Again” (Taken from “V”/Progress Productions 2013). Director & Photographer: Jenny Farida // Editing & Additional photo: Videomaskinen // Lighting: Gustaf Lerne.
About Kite:
Kite is Christian Berg and Nicklas Stenemo. The Swedish electronic duo have released EP´s since 2008.
The musical expressions of Kite is based in a soundscape of emotional layers. With great nerve, a sense of drama, cold beats and serious songwriting-skills Kite moves on into the sad dancefloors like a heartaching update of the genre´s biggest stars; Kraftwerk, Ultravox and early Orchestral Manoevers in the Dark.
New soundbank: Juno 2013 for TAL-U-NO-LX
Sounds for Synth has release a new soundbank, Juno 2013, for TAL-U-NO-LX containing 200 presets.
The soundbank is made with all electronic music genres in mind, drawing its main inspiration from Boards of Canada and Ulrich Schnauss. It features drifting keys and arpeggios, hypnotic techno lines together with lush, atmospheric pads and big basses, plus retro sounding 16th and 8th note basslines.
Here are some audio demos from the patch library:
Modular synthesizers: Leaving Plato’s Cave
A Generative Modular Synthesizer Piece.
A lot of hard sync, soft sync, FM, AM and a little RM going on with twelve VCO’s here. Set against a pure triangle wave melodic duet. All pitch data is automatic from LFO’s, AR’s and Noise/S&H within the modular.
Kind of like there are more things happening behind the scenes than what appear as shadows on the wall in front.
Never Happened Before – The Vo-96 Acoustic Synthesizer
The Vo-96 can now be ordered on the Vo Inventions website, www.voinventions.com
An important moment in the development of Acoustic Synthesis. Learn how you can own a vo-96 Acoustic Synthesizer at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/3…
The Vo-96 Acoustic Synthesizer is based on a key invention that enables accurate control of acoustic vibrations. I’m the inventor. My technology was behind the well-known Moog Guitar and the Moog lap steel — instruments based on the same key principle. Since then I’ve been advancing this invention towards its full potential. Now I’m going ahead with the Vo-96 Acoustic Synthesizer. It’s my full ‘inventor’s version’ product and will be produced by my design company Vo Inventions LLC.
The Vo-96 was never intended to be a retail type of product. It is a concept product that takes the technology to the max and demonstrates what’s really possible with acoustic synthesis. It’s the “inventor’s cut” and it leaves nothing out — which makes it impractical to sell through the standard retail channels with their customary price mark-ups. Making the Vo-96 available through Kickstarter allows us to maximize the value to you and provide the most powerful product for the price; and there is simply nothing else available at any price that does what the Vo-96 does.
Our goal is to launch Acoustic Synthesis technology with a bang. We want to put the most powerful instrument possible into the hands of as many forward-thinking guitarists as possible and listen to the new music you all create. This is where Kickstarter really shines! I’m thrilled to have found a way to offer the Vo-96 directly to you at the fairest price possible – about half what it would cost as a retail product!
Tme machine: YAMAHA AN1x “X-Rays”
The AN1x is a powerful retro-analog synth with a really cool new feature that lets you record real-time editing and filtering and be able to store it as part of the sound! A major contender in the new wave of analog-digital synths using DSP modeling of analog waveforms to recreate the coveted sounds of analog synths with modern digital specifications. It offers truly traditional yet modern methods of analog synthesizing, 10 notes of polyphony, 8 knobs for tweaking, and an arpeggiator with dozens of inspiring patterns!
Although the AN1x is not a follow-up to the CS1x (which has since been followed by the CS2x and the CS6x) it has borrowed many functions and technologies from the CS1x synth. First, it’s built in an almost identical case with the same layout of buttons and knobs as the CS1x. However the function of every knob and button has been greatly expanded. The AN1x also has 2 Scene memories for instant recall of any envelope and filter settings and the mod-wheel can be used to morph between the two scenes. On-board effects and a state-of-the-art arpeggiator section also are on-board for giving your sounds life and motion.
The AN1x adds a new Ribbon controller for increased real-time control. It also includes pulse width modulation, ring modulation and oscillator syncing. The AN1x may not be the next evolution of the CS1x but it is basically a more advanced synth capable of increased sound potential and quality. It has a better feeling keyboard than the CS1x as well assuming that the AN1x is for those looking for something more professional than the CS1x.

“X-Rays”
all synthesizer sounds and drums: YAMAHA AN1x VA Synthesizer (1997)
sequencing: internal step-sequencer
recording: multi-tracking without midi
X-Rays (Röntgen X-radiation) is a form of electromagnetic radiation. X-rays have a wavelength in the range of 0.01 to 10 nanometers. (wikipedia)
I know this is the vintage synth channel but for me is the YAMAHA AN1x synthesizer from the year 1997 the best virtual-analog synth ever. absolut deep and unique sound. so underrated in my opinion.
