Lemur can control DJ software, live electronic music performance software, studio production software (DAWs), VJ software, visual synthesis software, stage lighting and more.
Pulse Machine
Made in collaboration with Alexander Reben.
kick drum, solenoid, flip digit numerals, Arduino microcontroller, mixed media
This electromechanical sculpture was ‘born’ in Nashville, Tennessee on 2 June 2012, at 6:18 PM. It has been programmed to have the average human lifespan of babies born in Tennessee on that same day: approximately 78 years. The kick drum beats its heartbeat (at 60 beats per minute), and the mechanical counter displays the number of heartbeats remaining in its lifetime. An internal, battery-operated clock keeps track of the passing time when the sculpture is unplugged. The sculpture will die once the counter reaches zero.
Sub Bass – Free Ableton Live Pack
Get earth-shaking sub bass easily with this free Ableton Live Pack. It allows you to quickly drop any synth in the instrument rack, and adds heavy bass to get the floor moving.

Sub bass is an important part of many types of electronic music. It is not so much heard as it is felt. It can give a track tremendous power. For this free Ableton Live Pack, I have created an instrument rack that features two different chains. The first contains a simple sine wave synth that provides the sub bass. The second chain is almost empty, leaving room for you to drop any instrument you’d like to add a little sub bass to.
The first macro knob allows you to mix in the sub bass to the desired volume. It is useful for balancing it with your main synth sound. Next there is a macro that controls a low pass filter on the sub bass. I use this for preventing any higher pitched sounds from being heard. Third, is an octave shifter for the sub bass. This allows you to shift the pitch down by 1-3 octaves. It’s good for when you are playing higher notes, but still want the sub bass to be very low. The final macro is an octave shifter for the main synth sound. This allows you to get the relative octaves of the two synths exactly as you like. I’ve left the last four macros open in case you’d like to map some of your synthesizers parameters to them.
3-minute Preview: Official DEVO Documentary
This 3-minute preview is the perfect bite-sized length to de-evolve the uninitiated. Produced in cooperation with DEVO, this authorized feature-length documentary has been in development for 3 years. Although the band has been notoriously secretive for nearly 4 decades, they granted us unprecedented full-access to their personal inner-workings and daily lives while on the road, backstage, and at home. Featuring new interviews with contemporaries (Iggy Pop), and fans (Dave Grohl, Tony Hawk), the official film reveals the truth about this important and misunderstood band. From their mysterious origins during the 1970 Kent State shootings to their latest album and tours, this film tells the funny and fascinating story of de-evolution.
KRAFTWERK 「OHM SWEET OHM」 in the anime version K-ON
http://youtu.be/toxwJQiXUe4
Kraftwerk collaborates with Japanese animation “K-ON!!”
A nice fan made tribute video using the Kraftwerk’s iconic track ‘Ohm Sweet Ohm’ from the ‘Radio-Activity’
album and clips from the Japanese Anime ‘K-On!’
‘K-On!’ centres around the story of HO-KAGO TEA TIME, a schoolgirl band getting to grips with playing their instruments of choice who become more confident both in music and in life. However, despite improving immensely in a short space of time, the girls do seem to spend most of their time consuming tea and cake! After all, this is a cartoon! It began as a Manga by creator Kakifly and was originally serialised as a 4-panel strip in magazines by publisher Houbunsha. A 13-part Anime was commissioned by Kyoto Animation and originally aired back in 2009.
KRAFTWERK’s legacy actually looms in the music of ‘K-On!’ via an authentic pastiche entitled ‘Virtual Love’ by HAJIME HYAKKOKU which is clearly based on ‘The Model’. There has also been mock ‘Trans-Europe Express’
based artwork featuring the main characters for an album called ‘Fuwa Fuwa-Time Express’ too…the phrase “Fuwa Fuwa” could be interpreted as “light and fluffy”!
