Syncing Volca Beats and Kilpatrick Modular and Buchla
Quick demonstration of a few ways to sync the Volca Beats to my modular:
1. Using arpeggio notes of the Korg Microstation to trigger the Volca Beats (trigger in) via a midi to cv convertor (Kilpatrick in this case)
2. Midi clock in the Volca Beats (midi through on the Kilpatrick)
3. Using trigger out of the sequencer (clock out works also)
EML Polybox Quick Test w/ Analogue Solutions Telemark
Here’s a quick test of the EML Polybox:
The GATE IN is accepting signal from the Analogue Solutions Oberkorn for purposes of rhythm.

The first Jupiter synth. It was among one of the first poly synthesizers (4 individual voices which could be synced together for one fat monophonic lead), it had a pitch wheel that could be assigned to the VCA, VCF, VCO or all together, there are 8 memory locations and a cool arpeggiator – the arpeggiator can be heard in the Duran Duran classic, “Rio”. It also has a very slow LFO for those ever-so-long filter sweeps. Pretty good for 1978!
Not so cool however, are the 10 preset sounds which sound nothing like the piano, brass or strings they claim to be. The placement of all the preset buttons below the keyboard can be inconvenient, especially while playing it. And as with most old analog synths, the Jupiter-4’s tuning can go out often. Still it is a nice analog synth for creating weird trippy analog sounds.

Stylish miniMoog iPad controller
Inevitable Crafts shared this design for a Minimoog-style iPad MIDI controller.
It’s in the proof-of-concept stage, and the plan is to base it on inexpensive, readily available components, including an Akai LPK8, a Behringer 202 sounccard and various plugs and connectors and birch wood from Home Depot.

FL Studio Mobile | MiniSynth

Brute LFO – iOS App Demo
Brute LFO is an iOS App for iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch, which outputs control voltages (CV) from the device’s headphone output. Connect it to your Arturia Microbrute or other analog gear, like a Modular Synthesizer, to modulate your sounds. The headphone output voltages aren’t very high on iOS devices, so it’s more of a subtle modulation, but Brute LFO also sounds awesome when pushed into audio range. There are two simultaneous oscillators and a third one to modulate the other two’s frequency. Switch on “Brute” mode to dirty the waveforms up some more. Not shown in the video: The performance pad mode, in which you can use two touch pads to adjust four parameters simply by swiping your fingers on the screen.

“The Brute LFO is a powerful low frequency oscillator that modulates your analog gear. If you have a hardware synth that allows you to use external gear to modulate the pitch, the filter, or any other parameter, just plug the Brute LFO into the CV in and start playing. It consists of three separate LFOs. LFO 1 and 2 can be controlled using the control elements in the top half of the screen. The big knob in he middle sets the rate of both the LFOs. Additionally you can change the waveforms of the LFOs, detune LFO 2 and change its phase. The amount knob in the top half also sets the overall amount of the modulation. The elements on the bottom half (LFO 3) can be used to modulate the frequency of LFO 1 and 2. And the brute switch destroys everything!”
