MVIP with sequenced oscillator

March 8, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on MVIP with sequenced oscillator

Made with the Jones MVIP and a sequenced AFG oscillator. The MVIP is a Euro module for image processing. It was controlled by a Z8000 sequencer that changed the speed of the AFG oscillator. A pair of A-110 oscillators and a multi-mode filter were also controlled by the sequencer to make the sounds.

Video Wave Form Generator modules and the concepts of modular video synthesis

November 25, 2010 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Video Wave Form Generator modules and the concepts of modular video synthesis

lzxindustries has shared a video that introduces the video oscillator

Conceptualizing the use of a Voltage Controlled Oscillator as an image generation tool is difficult. This demo attempts to explain a basic pattern synthesis technique using 3 Video Wave Form Generator modules and frequency modulation to generate a monochrome, animated video pattern.

LZX makes a line of Eurorack format modular video synthesizer modules, designed for creating and manipulating video and images.

Space Oscillator plug-in for Mac

November 10, 2010 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Space Oscillator plug-in for Mac

Sinevibes has released version 1.2.0 of Space Oscillator, an audio-controlled synthesizer plug-in for Mac.

Space Oscillator is a unique combination of a synthesizer and a sound processor.

At it’s core, it has a unison oscillator with a spacious stereo sound, which is modulated by input signal envelope follower or a complex step sequencer. The oscillator is then fed into a polyphonic waveshaper, decimator and can be ring-modulated with the input signal. With such an experimental generation and effect chain, Space Oscillator allows you to create new sonic textures with a lot of original character and attitude: from organic synth and bass lines, old-school game boy sounds to rhythmic zaps and noises, extreme lo-fi glitches and much more.

Changes in Space Oscillator v1.2.0

  • Vastly redesigned user interface which improves usability and now has the same style as the recently updated Gateboy plugin.
  • Improved synchronization in GarageBand, Logic and Live.
  • Improved synchronization during sequencer Rate changes.
  • New user manual.
  • 30 new factory patches (for a total of 100).

Space Oscillator for Mac (AU) is available for to purchase for $29 USD until the end of 2010 (regular price $39 USD). The update is free to all existing owners.

Running the cool Z8000 matrix sequencer

October 4, 2010 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Running the cool Z8000 matrix sequencer

This patch makes heavy use of AND, OR, XOR, and Flip Flop gates to run the awesome Tip Top Z8000 matrix sequencer. Everything else going on is too complicated to easily explain. Some other prominent modules used are The Harvestman Zorlon Cannon, the Metasonix R-54, the Doepfer A-106-1 Xtreme Filter (ms20), Intellijel Spock and Flip Flop, and the Malekko Wiard Oscillator.

Moog Voyager: Low Oscillator Volume + FX

September 18, 2010 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Moog Voyager: Low Oscillator Volume + FX

Alias cl516 has released a demo of the Voyager, checking in on what it is really capable of:

Here is what he has to say about it:

With all the recent talk about the upcoming Moog Voyager XL, I thought I’d take the Voyager out for a spin. I’ve already made a video trying to thicken up the Voyager’s sound, so this one’s a bit different. Everything played here exited the Voyager’s left mono output only, making use of the dual filters and spacing knob. I also made sure that the oscillator volume levels were as low as possible, and by doing this, I managed to coax out a different tone from my usual way of using the Moog Voyager.  No extra modules such as the Freqbox, VX-351 or the CP-251 were involved.

Not just another simple VA synthesizer – Alphatron

September 3, 2010 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Not just another simple VA synthesizer – Alphatron

Alphatron is not just a simple VA synthesizer instead in using a 3rd oscillator with digital waves it does offer a lot more variation. Thus it can do analogstyle sounds reminding of the old Moog and Prophet days but also merge this with the digital realm in various ways to achieve sounds beyond.

Another big highlight of Alphatron is the versatile step sequencer with 8 + 4 pattern slots which can be selected at realtime for instant pattern switching.
Plus Step Variation which is in fact aonther 16 step sequencer to set different number of steps to be played in succession. Two alternating semitone offsets can be set e.g. for each 2nd, 3rd or 4th loop.

Main features (based on Pro version):

  • 1 VA Oscillator with up to 6 poly waves for Saw, Ramp, Sine, Tri, and Pulse
  • 1 VA Oscillator with single waves as above plus white and pink noise, Sync slave
  • 1 Sample Osccillator with fairly typical digital waves with different hamonic content, Sync master
  • 1 Amplitude Modulation with dedicated output
  • 1 24 dB resonant Low Pass filter with dedicated ADSR EG, 4 mixable mod sources
  • 1 VCA EG
  • Note: Both EG have 3 modes: exponential, reverse exponential, and linear; and optional control for Attack and Decay by velocity

  • 1 Booster or Enciter selectable
  • 1 Mystify with three selctable types (Brite, Soft, Dark)
  • 1 bpm synced Delay with adjustable Offset controlled manually or by modsource, Pan
  • 1 Bass Boost
  • 1 Pan for undelayed signal
  • 1 small Reverb for adding some nice flavour
  • 1 Saturator
  • 1 main Volume
  • 3 x LFO, 1 x Duo LFO (with two waves and phase control for 2nd wave), 1 x S&H
  • 1 Pitch LFO with option to speed up or down the LFO speed
  • 16 Step Seqencer with Shuffle for notes and velocity plus mute buttons for each step.
  • incl 8 pattern slots per patch and 4 global pattern slots for instant changes
  • 3 Wheels
  • Aftertouch as selectable modsource
  • 8 Lazy buttons
  • 8 GUI variants selectable

Each oscillator has its own waveform selector (5 shapes), tuning control, lowpass filter, modulation depth control and volume envelope. If you’re looking for a synth that can effortlessly mix warm, analog pads with celestial modulation or grinding glitch *and* switch into mono mode to use the same tone-shaping tools to meet another end, look no further.

    Feature List:

    -30 presets
-Four oscillators (five waveform choices) with their own full channels with tuning, filtration and amplitude shaping
-Two sound / tone shaping LFO’s (five shapes) with a total of 30 possible destinations
