Introducing the sample performance app – BeatSpiral
Xylio has released this new app for performance sampling, here’s there description in their own words:
BeatSpiral is an innovative sample performance instrument for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
Chop samples, make beats and perform them live. Choose from the included library or import your own.
Take it for a spin. Give it a whirl. It’s a Groovebox with a twist.
FEATURES:
● Create new sequences by rearranging and looping sample slices
● Hold the wave stripes at different locations to play slices, slide out to record
● The two waves on the left get recorded to one track, the others to the second
● Select different loop regions on each track, change their length, copy and erase content
● Mute pads for temporary silencing, erasing track content and deactivating waves
● Eject buttons for selecting sample files and setting volume and panning
● User sample import via iTunes File Sharing (mp3, wav, aiff, m4a)

Mobile Music Meetup with Amy, Jordan, Carson Day and VJ Keisuke
The Tabletop guys are having fun on their Mobile Music Meetup 😉
“This was our second Mobile Music Meetup. Carson Day played his semi analogue set, Ami L looped live and Jordan was the main DJ. We also had Keisuke showing us his VJ set all night long. It was a great evening and fun to see the mobile music community growing.”

Knobcon 2012 Performances
Nice snaps from Knobcon via Raul, details below:
A little montage of some of the night’s performances by Caleb Condit, Low-Gain,Donald Crunk, and brownshoesonly(Nick Ciontea) on live video art. Before I get a million emails, brownshoesonly (Nick Ciontea) is using a custom LZX industries Visionary Modular. I didn’t get footage of Suit and Tie Guy because my camera doesn’t work when I go to bed early. Suit and Tie Guy did nourish my mind at his advanced sequencing workshop on Saturday though. Shot and Edited by Raul Pena.
Mr.Y | Live Mini Mix
visit Mr.Y on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/thisisMrY
Here it is, a mini mix of all original music, recorded live in one take. Nothing was prerecorded and no samples were used. Everything is played and looped live using a korg kaoss pad, a microkorg, a moog synthesizer, and some beatboxing. Three cameras were used to get a better view of what I am doing at a live show. Hope you all enjoy!
Techno live set with Nanoloop, Monotron & Electribe
Techno live set utilizing
-Korg Electribe S
-Korg Monotron
-Nanoloop
-Echopark
-TR-626 (MIDI and sync-trigger master)
Gameboy and Electribe (not the Monotron filter LFO) are synchronized via MIDI or trigger pulses from the TR-626 sync master. The Delay is synced manually by tapping.

Synthesist Martin Peters performs a hypnotic synth jam
Background info:
It has been a while since I uploaded my last video for obvious and sometimes not so obvious reasons. But last night this dreamy piece came up and I want to share it with you.
The music is dedicated to my beloved girlfriend Anne. On 9/11 we celebrated our second anniversary together. She means everything to me and I hope we can live together for a very long time.
The piece starts with two 8 step sequences from rows 1 and 2 of the Synthesizers.com Q960 sequencer. The 2 rows are manually alternated using the Q962 sequential switch. Row 3 of the Q960 sequencer modulates the Ian Fritz 5Pulser. After that the Nord Wave comes in and then an 8 step sequence from row 2 on the Doepfer MAQ16/3 driving the self build Modular. The Pipe Organ preset from the Korg PE-1000 is used to play the chords. The solo is performed on the Nord Lead 1. Anne used my iPhone 4 to film this video.
You can download/see/hear the video and music from my website.
Weekend synth jam – featuring Fender and Moog
Background information from Rheyne:
Download or stream the audio at SoundCloud: http://snd.sc/JOvWMs
A live looping improv jam with a Fender Rhodes, Moog Prodigy, and an Akai MPD26 controlling a custom kit in NI’s Kontakt. An iPod Touch is controlling the reverb mix on the Rhodes through Lemur, and the first loop from the Rhodes is recorded in Ableton’s looper controlled by a MIDI Fighter 3D. A Novation Launchpad is controlling the recording and playback of loops in Ableton Live. An MXR Wylde Overdrive is connected to the Rhodes. All audio is passed through a PreSonus 1818VSL connected to a Macbook Pro running Ableton Live.
All loops are recorded live.
