Tactile Sounds releases Substance

Tactile Sounds has introduced Substance, a free Windows software synthesizer.
Description:
Substance is a virtual analog software synthesizer (VSTi) emphasizing simplicity, flexibility, and sound quality. The key factors in the design of Substance were that it should sound great, without effects, and that it should all fit on one page.
Here’s a sonic preview of Substance:
Substance has two of everything: two oscillator sections, two LFOs, two envelopes, two filters. The oscillator sections were inspired by the architecture of classic analog polysynths, which used multiple oscillators to achieve polyphony, but allowed the oscillators to be combined for a monophonic Unison mode. The oscillators would generally be slightly out of tune with one another, resulting in a rich, chorused sound. Each of Substance’s oscillators likewise comprises seven unison voices, with the amount of detuning, and the stereo breadth being adressed by a single parameter, Spread. The LFOs can be used to modulate almost every parameter of the synth. They can be used to trigger the envelopes, to modulate the frequency and pulse-width of the oscillators, the cutoff frequency of the filters, and the volume of the amplifier. LFO-1 can be switched between free-running, tempo-synced, and key-synced modes. A manual is included in the download link, detailing all of the other features.

Lexor is giving you a pristine clear chorus sound
WOK has announced the release of Lexor, a chorus effect plug-in for Windows.
Lexor is giving you a pristine clear chorus sound, free of unwanted artefacts or signal colouring and with a clear and easy user interface for quick results.
While our vintage CromFX has it’s focus on reproducing the sonic instabilities of old hardware, this plugin takes advantage of the highest precise mathematical calculations for a pure and plain signal modulation.

Lexor features
- Full stereo signal path.
- Triple chorus line per path with multi-modulation.
- Bass filter to keep the lower frequencies “clear” when used with bass sounds.
- Mono switch.
- Low on CPU.
Lexor is available to purchase as a VST effect plug-in for Windows PC for 14 EUR.
Pterosaur is a free 16-oscillator monosynth for Windows.
Free Music Software: Pterosaur is a free 16-oscillator monosynth for Windows.
The basic waveform of each oscillator is a sawtooth wave – but the “mod” control morphs it into a sort of saw-pulse hybrid.
It’s available as a free download via VSTPlanet.
Demo of a new effect plug-in from Expert Sleepers – Spectral Conquest
Expert Sleepers announce the release of a new plug-in for both Windows and Mac OS X – Spectral Conquest v1.0.0.
Spectral Conquest is an effect plug-in that lets you directly manipulate the frequency spectrum of audio signals.
The incoming signal is analysed via a FFT (Fast Fourier Transform), resulting in the familiar spectrum plot where the full audio spectrum is split into a number of narrow frequency bands. The outgoing audio is then regenerated by an Inverse FFT. The interesting bit is that the plug-in lets you modify the frequency spectrum in between.
Spectral Conquest allows you to modify the spectrum in two ways:
– By setting a multiplier for each frequency band. You can simply draw out the multipliers in the GUI.
– By applying a script to the spectrum. Some basic scripts are included with the plug-in to perform operations such as filtering and gating, but you can also write scripts yourself to do whatever you like.
Granite and Iliadis – two new flashy VSTs

Sonic Arts has released Granite, a new granular synthesizer instrument for Windows.
Description:
Granite is a granular synthesizer particularly suited for generating evolving, organic textures and atmospheres. It is also capable at creating dark bass tones and loop processing.
Granite’s sound is highly dependent on the input material, but the grain engine parameters have been refined and scaled to allow complete transformation of material in a fast and musical way.
Most parameters can be modulated with internal movement recorders, in addition to being controllable by host automation and MIDI CCs.
Granite is available now for Windows PC (Standalone/VST) for US $60. A demo version is available.
Iliadis has announced the iVF Combo Organ, a virtual organ instrument plug-in for Windows.
The iVF Combo Organ is a Two Manual Transistor Organ Simulation for Windows Compatible VST Hosts, inspired afer famous Transistor Organ models, with special characteristics and the feeling of an incredible Retro Sound close to the sound of favourite models of the past.
iVF Combo Organ will be soon be available as a VST instrument plug-in for Windows PC.

Great analog bundle
G-Sonique has introduced the Analog Bundle, a collection of its “analog” effects plug-ins for Windows.
G-Sonique Analog Bundle includes
- XBass4000L – Analog Bass saturation / Enhance processor: Designed to facilitate the maximization the bass frequencies, enriches your kick-drum & bass to give them the energy you need to drive your track.
- Pultronic EQ-110P – Vintage vacuum tube equalizer: Equalizer emulating classic professional parametric vacuum tube equalizer from ’50s and ’60s. It can add real and hearable warm, color and dynamics of the vacuum tube devices into your music.
- FSQ1964 – Vacuum tube high frequency / transient vitaliser: With this plug-in your records gain professional, expressive and crystal clear sound. It is capable of giving them a true sound, sharpness and boldness, everything the modern records should have.
- Twisthead VS-206 – Vintage vacuum tube preamp: This machine behaves like a real analog hardware, it behaves in non-linear way and unexpectedly. Combining the quality and possibilities of digital sound with a heat, grandiosity and charisma of vintage analog vacuum tube machines.
The Analog Bundle offers a 25% savings on the regular price when purchasing the plug-ins separately. It is currently available to purchase for 58 EUR (additional 10% discount in G-Sonique’s Summer Sale 2010).
