Code is a flexible and stylish control surface for computer music creation and performance. Its compact grid of 32 endless encoders with LED rings have built-in pushbuttons with addressable LEDs let you “think outside the grid.” Code sends and receives MIDI, providing endless possibilities for use with software such as Ableton Live, Max/MSP, Properllerhead’s Reason and Record, and NI Traktor, just to name a few.

Here I demonstrate the potential of the Elektron Octatrack for alternate playback of songs using pitch change, time stretching and the FX of the OT.
The Octatrack is an 8 track performance sampler. Recording of sounds is a breeze thanks to the intuitive user interface, but the fun really starts once the samples are inside the machine. All audio content can be heavily processed and radically transformed. Loops do not have to be restricted by tempo or tone and can always stay in sync no matter if they are pitch shifted or if the tempo of the sequencer is changed. The inflexible nature of samples is finally a thing of the past.
The Compact Flash card compability allows for huge amounts of samples to be constantly accessible. The USB port is ideal when transfering sample libraries between your computer and the Octatrack. The optical fader can be assigned to any of the parameters, adding a wealth of live control possibilities.
The producer will be able to treat samples in radical ways. The extensive audio mangling capabilities paired with the user friendly interface make the Octatrack an outstanding studio tool.
The DJ can sample in real-time, add effects and blend in pre-recorded loops to really add a twist to a set. The Octatrack can be regarded as an extremely flexible turntable.
The performer needing gigabyte large backing tracks during a live gig will appreciate the sample streaming functionality of the Octatrack. Streamed samples can still be subject to time stretch and effects processing.

This is an example, how to use the basic stuff in your room in such creative and musician way. Just take some noisy and voiced objects and record them with any sampler. At the end use all this stuff to create any music u desire. Or… You even don’t need any sampler. Just use your friends, give them gadgets and transform your party into gizmo-jam-session. Oscillators

Filters
Each synth’s filter section consists of two multi-mode filters with 23 unique filter types and multi-mode distortion.
ElectraX comes with excellent analog modeled filters, high precision digital filters, vocal filters, comb filters, phasers, equalizers and other exotic types.
The warm sounding filters are able to self oscillate and deliver a wide range of timbres due to the variable degree of analog behavior.
A dual distortion unit offers six different modes. It can produce tube sound, known from analog pre-amp boxes, model a fuzzbox or do waveshaping.

Modulation

The flexible Modulation Matrix is easy-to-use and provides a good and instant overview of the active modulations.
With the built-in ‘midi-learn’ feature it is possible to assign controllers with a single click.
Arpeggiator
One preset setup can handle up to four full featured synthesizers with four independent arpeggiators and step sequencers. The arpeggiator supports autochord, swing, glide and keyboard splitting.
