Mungo dDS noise channel activated via trigger in modification. Flanging effect via Yamaha AD-202 Analog Delay.
“Conga Heart Beat”
MFB Drum-06 Tom Tom module into Analogue Systems RS-100 Low Pass Filter. The tom interchanges as a fill with the kick drum via alternating switching by using VCAs with an Intellijel Flip Flop.
“Snappy Chorus Claps”
Sound of a Pittsburgh Modular Generator frequency modulated by itself and white noise. The internal VCA of the Generator is controlled by an Analogue Systems RS-60 Envelope. It then goes into a Doepfer A-136 Distortion/Waveshaper and on into a Flight of Harmony Sound of Shadows delay.
“Rubber Bass Kicks”
MFB Drum-04 Bass Drum module Sequenced by an Analogue Systems RS-200 Sequential Controller into an RS-100 Low Pass Filter. I reset the sequence with a foot switch via a Doepfer A-177-2 External Foot Controller II module.
“G-Funk Bird Calls”
Cwejman VM-1 sequenced via an RS-200 Sequential Controller into an RS-110 Multimode Filter using the high-pass output. It then goes into a Pittsburgh Modular Analogue Delay and on into a Zoom 9200 Reverb.
“Metal-Beaded Cabasa”
Elby Designs CGS747 Cynare Simulator triggered via a Doepfer A-166 Dual Logic Module.
“Com Trusian Chords”
Roland Juno-106 into a Boss RX-100 Spring Reverb.
“Aztec God Rays”
While the Juno-106 is played polyphonically is also activating a mono channel of a Kenton Pro-2 Midi-to-CV converter which is controlling another Cwejman VM-1. The envelope in set in such a way that the sound emerges once the gate is released. It goes into a Doepfer A-199 Spring Reverb which is feeding back into the VM-1 via the audio input jack.
“Ticklish Chimp Giggles”
The result of a complex feedback loop involving a Doepfer A-138m Matrix Mixer, an MFB DRUM-05 Snare Drum module, an Elby Designs CGS735 Synthacon Filter, a Pittsburgh Modular VC Bend and an Elby Designs ED108 ChaQuO.
“Didgeridoo Error Stabs”
The Kawai K5000W keyboard is acting as a Midi controller for another channel of CV via a Kenton Pro-2. It controls 2 Bubblesound uLFOs going into a Make Noise QMMG modulated by a Make Noise Maths.

One unique synth per song: Alesis Andromeda A6
A song made entirely on a multi tracked Alesis Andromeda A6 analog synthesizer.
The song is called Andromeda and is taken from the Firechild album Beyond The Sun.
The album contains 12 songs made on different real analog synthesizers. Each track is only allowed to use one specific synthesizer. Other synthesizers on the album includes , Roland Jupiter 8 , Oberheim Xpander , Waldorf Pulse , Minimoog Voyager , Matrix 1000 , Oberheim SEM Pro , Prophet 08 etc.
Firechild is also known as the swedish artist Evan , but now under the Firechild alias he is going back to his roots, back to the Synthesizer music from the 70s and 80s and artists like Vangelis , Jean-Michel Jarre , Kitaro and Kraftwerk.

Each module connects to the Elements Brain for easy plug-and-play configuration and setup. Elements modules are housed in one of our custom eurorack cases for total plug-and-play integration. The standardized, modular format allows for an incredible amount of flexibility and expansion.
Elements is based around the eurorack format, a popular analog synth standard of modules and enclosure sizes so you can create your own customized setup. The threaded rails of the cases make it easy to connect and configure your controller by simply plugging the module into the Brain and fastening it to the rails. The Elements Configuration Utility lets you configure your layout and edit your MIDI settings. With a growing list of available modules (don’t forget: you can create your own Elements, too!) we’ve designed this system to grow with you and the community of people making modules for the Elements system. Our own DIY Omni boards are also compatible with the Elements system.

The Minitaur (left channel) is controlled by the Little Phatty’s arpeggio. The Shruthi-1 (right channel) is being sequenced by the MIDIpal and sending clock to both the Little Phatty and Shruthi-1.

The MFOS Noise Toaster is the latest LO-FI project we’ve come up with deep in the MFOS underground lab. I really think people who attend noise fests, noise battles, synth-diy meets, the symphony (alright maybe not the symphony…) are going to consider this standard equipment (symphony during intermission may be OK). I have to say that in some places having this much fun with a single nine volt battery might just be totally illegal so be careful where you bring it! The Noise Toaster has: One wide range VCO, a WHITE NOISE GENERATOR, a simple but fun VCF, a simple but effective VCA, an AR envelope generator, an LFO with several waveforms, a line out jack, and a nicely normalized switching scheme. But wait… there’s more! Last but not least we’ve put a 1W amp and speaker right into the unit. I want to emphasize that this device is LO-FI. It is not a temperature compensated, V/Octave trackin, needs calibratin’, must have highest quality components – kind of thing. This thing is just a freakin’ blast to goof with. Prepare to create a limitless cadre of amazing and unusual sounds. And of course there will be mods in the future. How about connecting your WSG to the Noise Toaster’s filter and VCA… I already put some pads on the PC board to facilitate it. You could even modulate the Noise Toaster with the WSG (pads for that too)! I plan to offer kits and PC boards as well as complete units. I’ll put a blurb on the MFOS home page when the project is posted.
Why is it called the “Noise Toaster” you ask? Well, what would you call something that has a bunch of knobs and switches that, when twiddled, cause unusual sounds and noises to pop out? Right… Then… On to the next project.
SOUNDOR – new free Max4Live FM Synth
A quick demo of SOUNDOR, a free and open source Max4Live FM Synth for AudioCubes by Percussa, smart cubes for sound, music and visuals.
In this video, you can see how you can easily create wind and bubbling water sounds using an AudioCube, the free SOUNDOR application and a simple foot pedal. Press the pedal down to enable control of the synthesizer using the AudioCube, and release the foot pedal if you want to “lock” the sound where it is or stop controlling the sound using the AudioCube. One AudioCube can control up to 4 parameters simultaneously, using your fingers and hands. The sensors are high speed and resolution (1kHz and 10 bit).
