DarkWave Studio updated to v3.8.4
DarkWave Studio is a free modular virtual studio for the synthesis of electronic music. It has a built in pattern editor and sequencer. It allows you to load various machines such as virtual instruments and effects and connect them in a modular and straightforward fashion. DarkWave can load VST instruments and effects and it can also load machines using the DarkPlug API, which was custom made for DarkWave.
DarkWave natively supports both x86 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit) versions of Windows with native binaries compiled for each platform. The x86 and x64 versions can each only load plugins for that platform, i.e. the x64 version only loads 64-bit VST and DarkPlug plugins.

TPM Sound System – A Special EBM Dance Mix by The Pain Machinery
Having experimented with electronic sonics since the late 1980’s, Anders Karlsson released his first work as The Pain Machinery in 1992. The initial idea was to mix the raw energy of UK street punk and the sound exploring possibilities of electro/industrial music. Later joined by vocalist Jonas Hedberg, The Pain Machinery has continued to expand on their original formula through the years.
The band, frequently described as the missing link between punk, house and Electronic Body Music, has gained a lasting reputation for their intense and physical live shows around Europe.
The sound of archeological experiences
Belgian atmospheric electronic project IC 434 released its fifth album “Anhedonia” on Infacted Recordings on December 9. It deals with “society criticism, animal abuse, archeological mysteries and astronomical descriptions”. IC 434 is Geert de Wilde and bases all music on one machine, the Korg M1. Dirk Ivens (Klinik, Dive, Absolute Body Control) discovered IC 434 shortly after the birth of the project in 1994.

It contains 38 smooth, big room pluck sounds inspired by such artists as Kaskade, Dinka, Jerome Isma-Ae (“Big Room Pluck Sounds”), Pryda as well as some old classic plucks inspired by Chicane, Anjunabeats releases, Paul Van Dyk etc.
Bank also contains 52 Synth / Lead presets which can be used in wide range of genres. The rest is filled with 10 bass presets and 25 warm, smooth pad presets suited for background stuff, sidechaining etc.
All in all there are 125 presets which will bring a new life to your Novation V-Station synth.

Florian – Analog by Stereoklang Produktion
Florian celebrated his release Black Whiteness Ep1, in Brig, Switzerland. Florian is Jann Skoglund-Voss, artist, songwriter and producer that grew up in Norway, currently situated at the west coast of Sweden. This is the first release since the debut album “Tics and Tricks”-08. The release was held at the acclaimed club concept “El azra” in Switzerland. Black Whiteness Ep1 is now exclusively available at www.florianrox.com The multi-instrumentalist Florian has spread his light in many a dark club throughout the last years with his retro-futuristic electro-funk. His debut album is being played in lounge bars across Europe, but when he does his live-act, there is no sitting down. Several of the album tracks has been played in European radio stations and TV-shows, and the track “Pleasure smile” climbed to #1 on the Norwegian chart Sorlandstoppen.
LITTLE BOOTS – SHAKE TILL YOUR HEART BREAKS MIXTAPE by Stereoklang Produktion
Electro-pop singer Little Boots has come top of the BBC’s Sound of 2009 list, which aims to highlight the best new music talent for the new year. Little Boots is 24-year-old singer and keyboard player Victoria Hesketh from Blackpool, whose influences include David Bowie, Gary Numan and Kate Bush. Little Boots was already highlighted as a promising act on Dolphin Music’s issue 2 of Music Planet magazine. Her original sound and creative setup includes a Yamaha Tenori-On, a Stylophone and a MicroKorg…mixed with a traditional piano.
Kebu – Pulsar by Stereoklang Produktion
This tune is the second single from Kebu’s upcoming album. He composed the tune already in 2008 and the tune is a tribute to one of his biggest influences, Jean Michel Jarre.
Only analog synthesizer were used in recording the tune. The tune was also recorded by analog gear only and mixed with an analog mixer. The tune is from Kebu’s upcoming debut album, which is planned to be released in 2012.

If there is one thing I’ve learned in the creation of my Free Weekly Ableton Live Racks, it is that the Ableton Live community is alive and thriving. Over the last 8 or 9 months, I’ve gotten the chance to interact, collaborate and learn from quite a diverse cast of characters. Among them are some of the very people whose instructions, posts, and videos I’ve studied in my quest to learn more and more about music production. It’s been very inspiring to speak to and work with people who have taught me so much. Among those people, is Boulder, Colorado’s own Mark Mosher. Mark is an electronic musician, sound designer, producer, and as I have discovered, all-around nice guy. As a way of giving back to the community, Mark has been heading up the blog Modulate This! on which he shares everything from Ableton Live Packs, production advice, gear reviews, and so much more. The first time I watched Mark perform live online, I was pretty sure he was a being sent from the future to share some outrageous new ways of producing and performing music. This week I am very proud and excited to share the first of what promises to be many Ableton Live Packs created in collaboration with Mark.
