The VC 76, VC 2A, and VC 160 feature a modern, clean design for intuitive usability while each maintains its own unmistakable sound. Thanks to added sidechaining and parallel compression, these VINTAGE COMPRESSORS actually improve on the originals.
The VINTAGE COMPRESSORS collection includes all three devices. Each compressor is also available separately. All effects run as native plug-ins in your host DAW.
THREE’S COMPANY
Each of the three compressors has its own unique character and specific advantages:
VC 76: Workhorse compressor with a fast attack. Great presence, punchy, clear high end. Good for drums, vocals or stereo limiting.
VC 2A: Smooth compressor with a silky, natural sound. Great on vocals, bass, pads and guitar.
VC 160: Classic compressor for added attack and a subtle drive. Especially good on kickdrum, snare, bass or guitar.
Jordan Passmore Demo, NI Maschine, U-He’s Diva
Here is a demo Jordan Passmore composed with Native Instruments’ Maschine (loaded with DMX samples, courtesy of ToneBldr, http://www.drivenmachinedrums.com), U-He’s Diva and Native Instrument’s Kontakt. Maschine is loaded as the host and is doing sequencing and drum machine duties. Diva is doing the bassline and the HPF’d lead. Kontakt is playing back a string sample I captured from the Roland Juno-60. A few effects were used, namely the Valhalla DSP’s Ubermod on the lead and the reflex verb (built into Maschine) on the strings.

Using Absynth to Morph Sound Waves
In this video tutorial sound design course designer/instructor Evan Sutton, explores the sonic capabilities of “morphing waves” in Native Instruments’ Absynth software.
“Evan Sutton is one of Dubspot’s esteemed instructors by day and a sonic alchemist by night with his Astrolith (Space is the Place) music project which employs wobbling, funky bass lines under pitch-modulated vocals and synths. In this new video, Sutton shares his creative process of “adding a counterpoint” to his signature wobble using Native Instruments’ Absynth instrument. “At the core of this sound is the morphing wave. This is a really cool feature that Absynth has, and one of the only places where additive synthesis is used in Native Instruments’ Komplete (aside from Reaktor library instruments),” explains Sutton. In this tutorial he uses Logic as a DAW, but also explains that the process for using Absynth is exactly the same if you use Ableton or another DAW.”

- Traktor Pro software bundled (and integrated with the controller features).
- Innofader-brand faders, “high-quality” knobs.
- Multi-colored LED buttons, assigned to Remix Decks and cue points. (For those of you who hate the color disco-fication of NI’s hardware, sorry, there’s more.)
- Two standalone mixer channels for external analog inputs – think Pioneer CDJs or turntables.

Reaktor Tutorial: Filter Modulation PM vs FM

This is the first in a new series of Reaktor Tutorials that will be posted on flipmu.com. This video covers the different ways in which you can modulate a Filter in Reaktor, and discusses the details about why you would choose one input over the other.
The video starts with a brief overview of the test ensemble, and demonstrates the way different controls sound when hooked up to either the PM input or the FM input.
The second half of the video goes into the details of WHY you might want to hook up knobs and LFOs to the Pitch inputs, and hook up ENVs to the Frequency inputs.
