Synth spotting in Solvent´s studio

February 7, 2012 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Synth spotting in Solvent´s studio

Veteran Canadian producer and hardware lover, Solvent, gave StudioFeed an inside look at his Bloor-West home studio set-up, as well as discussed everything from why he makes music to the story behind his recent RDJ-CS5 EP. Jason touched on many topics involving music in this lengthy interview, including what it’s like to have a fifteen-year career and to still be considered a “relatively obscure” musician. In addition to making music, Solvent is also involved in a documentary on modular synthesizers called “I Dream of Wires” that is expected to be released later in 2012.

AURIA: 48-Track Recording System with VST support for iPad

January 18, 2012 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on AURIA: 48-Track Recording System with VST support for iPad

So is it time to fully get rid of your stationery studio and move over to the iPad, at least Auria may be a big first step in that direction

Auria is a 48 track digital audio workstation designed exclusively for the iPad. Built from the ground up to be used in professional studio and live tracking applications, Auria includes the necessary tools for recording, mixing, and editing any project. Auria introduces innovative features such as AAF import/export for moving sessions between popular DAWs (like Pro Tools and Nuendo), 64-bit double precision architecture, and up to 24 tracks of simultaneous recording using compatible USB audio interfaces.

WaveMachine Labs has teamed with PSPaudioware to offer a powerful vintage-inspired channel strip on every channel, plus a mastering processor on the master and subgroup channels. Auria also features a first among mobile apps – in-app purchase of VST plugins; Auria includes several bundled plugins (convolution reverb, stereo chorus and delay, classicVerb and a pitch processor). Plug-ins by PSPAudioware, Overloud Audio Tools, Fabfilter and more will be available through in-app purchase. WaveMachine Labs is pioneering the effort to develop the VST standard on iOS, allowing manufacturers to easily port their existing plugins to the iPad.

December 6, 2011 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on U&I Metasynth – Sound Scape

Well I must admit that this is the first time I hear of the MetaSynth :-)

Sound Design I did in U&I MetaSynth Software.

MetaSynth is an award-winning electronic music and sound design studio for OS X. Its six “rooms” provide six unique environments for creating and manipulating sound.

MetaSynth is an electronic music studio for Mac OS X where you create, compose, design and transform music and sound in a unique environment that invites exploration. Our users include Academy award-nominated sound designers and composers, popular electronica artists, avant-garde explorers, successful record producers, academics, students and amateurs all of whom share a desire to explore new sonic realms. Whether you want to create slamming grooves, haunting ambiences, or aural sculpture, MetaSynth has something to offer.

You can compose and mix full-length compositions in MetaSynth or use it to create or process elements that you use inside the DAW of your choice. MetaSynth is not a soft-synth or plug-in. It is a complete sound design and electronic music composition environment with six rooms that you can use to create and process sounds in a variety of paradigm-smashing ways.
