Reason 5 and it’s powerful Kong Drum Designer is a heaven sent Beat making tool for Hip Hop Producers as well as R&B, House, Techno, Trance etc… I love The Kong Drum in Reason 5 so much that I decided to produce a track called “RAGING KONG”! I skinned it with pictures of King Kong so my production track will feel the wrath of the beast in it’s transistors. In this beat tutorial, I did not use Kong the way I would have liked because Im still trying to pry away from Redrum and the old Rex, plus, I don’t want to offend KONG, I’ll treat Kong with tender loving care it deserves. A new Moog on its way
The rumor mill has been abuzz with news of a new monster monosynth – the Moog MiniMoog Voyager XL. The Voyager XL promises to be a semi-modular monosynth (think Korg MS-20 on steroids), and has the synth community salivating.
The Moog Voyager XL is a 60-key analog synth that combines the features of the standard Moog Minimoog Voyager with the VX-351 Control Voltage Expander, adds a dash of the CP-251 Control Processor and then throws in a ribbon controller.

Google Android takes on iTunes
Rumor has it that Google will go for a holiday-season launch for a new music download service. Google’s new msic service would be deeply connected to the Android mobile operating system. Apparently the company would go for the launch of a music download service first and then have that followed by an online subscription service next year. The service Google is aiming at would be a cloud-based subscription service with the ability to stream directly to Android mobile devices.
It remains to be seen if ‘Google Music’ will be able to present a serious threat to Apple’s iTunes. AdMob reports have already revealed that Android users are half as likely to pay for mobile apps as iPhone users. Users of the iPhone download an average of 8.8 apps a month, of which just 1.8 are paid for. Android users, meanwhile, download 8.7 apps a month and only pay for 1.1 of them. Good to know, AdMob is Google’s mobile ad company and Android is its mobile platform.
Vince remixes Goldfrapp
“Believer”, the new single from Goldfrapp, has been released by Mute (you can order it here at iTunes). Included on the single is a remix by synthPop legend Vince Clarke. “Believer” is the third sngle taken from Goldfrapp’s “Head First” album. The remix sounds rather retro, even reminding us of somewhat of the last Yazoo album “You and Me Both”. You can check for yourself after the jump!

New material from Absolute Body Control
Dirk Ivens and Eric van Wonterghem started up their first band Absolute Body Control 1980. After releasing new versions of classic tracks like “Figures” and “Give Me Your Hands” on the “Wind[Re]Wind” album, it’s now time for brand new material. The album “Shattered Illusion” will be out on October 16 through Daft and Sleepless Records. The band will play Germany, Belgium, Sweden and the Netherlands this fall.
