The history and creative talent that fill the halls of Sound One is a who’s who of the New York film and audio community. Retro synthpop act Mr Jones Machine returns
On March 30th, Swedish Synthpop trio Mr Jones Machine will release their long-awaited third studio album “Monokrom”. Jouni Ollila, Jarmo Ollila and Magnus Lindström have worked on the album for almost four years and once again the trio will stick to swedish lyrics. The new album is said to be more mature then ever and a much stronger side of the band.
Before this, on March 16th, the band will release – together with a very impressive video – a limited 7 inch vinyl of the track “De Månblekta Tingen”, which is a duet between Jouni and the famous 80′s icon Susie Päivirinta from the cult duo Lili & Susie, known from the 80′s with hits like “Oh Mama!”.
This track will be accompanied with the exclusive b-side “Elektricitet”.

I get asked about once a month if I can make a MIDI interface for the Theremin. So after completing the vacuum tube Theremin I thought it was about time I built one.
This device accurately matches Theremin Pitch to MIDI note, along with volume data – using a cunning blend of microprocessor, signal-processing hardware and some clever embedded software.
So far I’ve tested it with a PAIA Theremax, a Moog Etherwave Plus and my own Keppinger VT Theremin.
Not only does it produce pitch information, it can provide controller data, and realtime arpeggiation using simplified or complex chords – read from a MIDI keyboard connected to the input.
It even blends subtle pitch bend control into the MIDI stream to allow user controlled vibrato to be added. Just like a real Theremin.

Deine Lakaien to release limited ‘One Night’
New material from Deine Lakaien
Just in time for the start of the tour on 11th February 2011, Deine Lakaien are going to release the new maxi single “One Night”. Apart of the main track “One Night” in two new versions, the new EP will include the German version “Bei Nacht”, plus “Young 2010”, a live version of “Away” taken from the last Acoustic Tour, the brand new song “Manic” and additionally the videoclip for “One Night”.
In related news, the “Special Indicator EP” is now also out. The MCD is available as exclusive enclosure to Sonic Seducer ‘2010 Compendium’ issue only. This EP features the tracks: “In the Land of”, “Europe (New European Mix)”, “On Your Stage again (2nd Version)”, “Gone (Piano Mix)”.
