All sounds and music produced with analog synthesizers, drum machines, and fused through modern day music production environments. Abbey Road Tape Recorder Saturation Emulated
Waves Audio and Abbey Road Studios have released the J37 tape saturation plugin, which they describe as a precision model of the very machine used to record many of the greatest masterpieces in modern music. With a variety of user-adjustable controls including Tape Speed, Bias, Noise, Saturation, Wow and Flutter, the Waves: Abbey Road J37 faithfully recreates the inimitable sonic signature of the original machine. In addition to the J37 itself, three exclusive oxide tape formulas have been modeled. Specially developed by EMI during the 60s and 70s, each formula has its own unique frequency response and harmonic distortion behavior.
While the J37 was used on many famous recordings, it is perhaps best known for its innovative use on The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Producer George Martin utilized the machine not only for recording but also as a creative production tool, bouncing tracks between two J37s and creating layer upon layer of sound to achieve ground-breaking sonic textures.

Ohm Force has announced version 1.0 of its Ohm Studio real-time collaborative digital audio workstation software for Windows and Mac.
Ohm Studio is the only pro-grade DAW that allows for online cloud-based collaboration – a technical challenge that explains why it took so long and why Ohm Studio is the only DAW to offer online collaboration to date.

Modular Sequence by Tanzbär & Urzwerg
This time the only drum sound from the Tanzbär (which is mainly used as a CV sequencer) is the fantastic BD2, a 808 style bass drum. The other drum sounds are generated by the small modular system Tinysizer & the Mikrozwerg. Both synths are patched into each other. At the second half of the recording I am using LFO tool by Xfer Records to filter the VCO 2 of the Tinysizer.

Electribe MX goes Sakamoto with Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence
Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence is a 1983 Japanese film directed by Nagisa Oshima, produced by Jeremy Thomas and starring David Bowie, Tom Conti, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Takeshi Kitano. It was written by Oshima and Paul Mayersberg and based on Laurens van der Post’s experiences during World War II as a prisoner of war as depicted in his works The Seed and the Sower (1963) and The Night of the New Moon (1970). Sakamoto also wrote the score and the vocal theme “Forbidden Colours,” featuring David Sylvian, which was a hit single in many territories. The film was entered into the 1983 Cannes Film Festival in competition for the Palme d’Or. Sakamoto’s score also won the film a BAFTA Award for Best Film Music.
