In 1985 the world was introduced to the JX-10, a 12-voice, 24-oscillator analog synthesizer par excellence and the last true analog synth of its lineage. Following in the footsteps of the JX-8P and JX-3P, the Super JX was fashioned with a sparse aesthetic. A lack of knobs made the system a bit of a chore to program but an external controller (the PG800) could be attached, cheerfully reuniting synthesists with the immediacy and rapid programming speed of the ever-popular Jupiter and Juno lines. The JX-10 is known for an immense and capable analog sound, even some digital textures; it’s simply a magnificent synth. Programming capabilities were equally rich with independent control of 2 DCOs per voice, 2 EGs, 2 VCFs, onboard chorus and even a sequencer (albeit a limited one).
UVX-10P was designed to deliver on all of the strengths of the JX series with none of the weaknesses. We started with a pristine JX-10, MKS-70, and JX-8P and set off, tirelessly programming and sampling these beauties in high-resolution through a world-class signal chain. As with the UVX-3P we made every sample twice, with and without the built-in chorus, providing an authentic and versatile foundation. This sonic backbone paired with the UVI Engine results in a lush and extravagant analog sound; faithful to the hardware with a modern studio bite. UVX-10P delivers a fully-featured and fully-programmable interface sporting ADSR control of our high-quality amp and multimode filter designs, multiple effects, LFO and step modulator, a tediously crafted library of 150+ patches and even original wave samples for you to create your own programs with.

We never intended for this to be the official video, but a few fan-made videos (using the rear projection, with vocals added) inspired us to release this version.

Serge From Melodic to Krellodic
‘djangosfire’ has been experimenting with a semi-diatonic TKB patch on the Serge, details below:
Thought of a pretty weird idea:
– take the “KV” voltage out and patch it into the scaleable inputs of 2x VCO’s.
– scale the VCO inputs so that you have a semi-diatonic octave.
– THEN add a single row CV out from the TKB (I used row A)… patch it to the 2x VCO’s
– tune each step of row A out to bring the sum of the KV output CV to = a more accurate diatonic step.
Also, by patching the TKB “Reset” to different stage inputs … I created sub loop sequences that have a pretty, kind of doppler tuned sound…. since when you are not holding a stage pad, the TKB is transmitting ONLY the scaled KV output.
I need to fully notate this one.
And finally, I wanted to make a quick improv video that shows how easy it is to take a pretty sound into chaos…….. “Krellodic” AKA melodic Krell

Turn your iPhone into a motion-controlled instrument – AUUG Motion Synth
A new project, AUUG Motion Synth, explores the possibilities the iPhone and iPod touch, converting the devices into wearable motion-controlled instruments. Using it, you can control iOS synths, desktop music apps and even hardware.
The platform is made up of three components:
The AUUG grip positions the screen of an iPhone or iPod touch to be played by the fingers and secures the device to the user’s hand during motion: The AUUG app converts your iOS device’s motion sensor data into signals for shaping sound, and transfers these signals to other iOS sound apps or external devices. The AUUG app does not produce its own sounds, but instead acts to control other iOS audio apps running on the same device (as well as external devices). The AUUG app can be installed on iPhones (4S and up) and iPod touch devices (5th generation and up). The AUUG cloud is online service at that allows AUUG app presets to be shared with other users, via your iPhone or iPod touch (no laptop or desktop needed).
