Korg PolySix Sound Banks
2 Complete new sound-banks for Korg PolySix.
The PolySix is a classic and Korg did a great job of porting it to the PolySix software version.
The PolySix stands as one of the most authentic hardware
emulations ever made which so many recent synths attempt to emulate.
The presets heard in this video are from the new collection called, “Cold Fusion”.
These presets are designed to bring out the classic hardware sound from the original Korg PolySix.
Included in this collection are:
Classic style Apegs
Extremely Fat basses
Vintage and very warm pads.
Unique synth FX reminiscent of the electronic period that the PolySix was released in.
Leads
More
The Korg PolySix software version is one of those, “best kept secrets”.
This is partly due to the fact that it was initially released with so few presets.
VintageSynthPads.com has released this collection with the original Korg PolySix hardware in mind.
The presets are very analog, warm and fat, not to mention affordable.
Be sure to check them out.
Free synth for Ableton Live – based on DSI’s Prophet 12
Francis Preve has released a free instrument for Ableton Live, based on Dave Smith’s new Prophet 12 synthesizer.
Here’s what Preve has to say about the free Live instrument:
Dave Smith’s Prophet 12 is one of the most buzzworthy keyboards of 2013. It’s arguably the deepest analog-hybrid polysynth ever released – and since all of my previous packs have used single note samples, I decided to create a pack entirely from chord stabs.
Moog Slim Phatty sequenced by a Doepfer A-115
The music has been made using a Moog Slim Phatty and an analog modular system including an A-115 and an Echophon.

Need a Name has introduced Aria, a free synthesizer instrument for Native Instruments Reaktor.
Hey guys, I released a new Reaktor ensemble named Aria, it’s an experimental synthesizer.
The synth is mostly enjoyable when playing it with a dynamic keyboard, ’cause filters are modulated by velocity.

Can Universal Audio match the original Fairchild Limiter – Plugin Review
Tosh from Wij Productions take a look at the Fairchild Limiter Collection for the Universal Audio powered plugins platform. The original fetches $30k+ how does this measure up
The Fairchild 670 and 660 are the most coveted vintage compressor/limiters in the world, with good reason. These 20-tube tone titans — which now fetch upwards of $50,000 — impart an unmistakable silky warmth heard on hundreds of hit records from the Beatles and Pink Floyd, to Miles Davis and countless Motown classics. Now your vocal tracks, drum bus, and entire mix can benefit from the world’s most accurate plug-in recreations of these one-of-a-kind compressors.
- Give your tracks and mixes classic Fairchild tube warmth and character
- Get the only plug-in that accurately emulates Fairchild’s tube-driven gain control, compression curves, and tube amp and transformer sections — making it indistinguishable from the original hardware
- Duplicate the famed Ocean Way Studios’ compression sound with circuit-modeled recreations of their golden reference units
- Complete your “Big Three” compressor arsenal, alongside the LA-2A and 1176 plug-ins
The very first Fairchild limiter that audio genius Rein Narma created on Les Paul’s kitchen table transformed the sound of recording forever. Soon, these 20-tube, 14-transformer, 67-pound behemoths were embraced by world-class studios, many of which still employ their vintage Fairchilds despite the increasing difficulty in maintaining these tube-driven tone machines.
For a half-century, the Fairchild 670 — and its aggressive little brother, the Fairchild 660 — have defined popular music’s most revered vocal and drum sounds. In fact, the world’s elite mixers often employ a 670 simply for the “glow” it brings to their final mixes, even without the compression circuitry engaged.
