This video is a couple of days old, but since it has not been posted here before, here goes, details below:

PMT Exclusive – Korg Volca Range Demonstration

At Frankfurt musikmesse 2013, PMT grabbed a first look at the new KORG
Volca range. We witnessed Boris from Korg Europe putting Volca through
its paces, and the results were excellent.

The rumour mill before the show was rife with talk of KORG releasing
further retro based vintage products that are packed with analog
technology. The range comprises of three separate models, we have the
Volca Bass, a unique three oscillator analog bass synthesizer, the
Volca Beats which is an analog drum machine featuring a comprehensive
16 step sequencer, Completing the lineup is the Volca Keys, a
straightforward yet effective polyphonic analog synthesizer which also
features a loop sequencer. The fun doesn’t end there, each unit in the
Volca range has a MIDI input and sync jack making it easy to interface
with your favorite DAW.

Saw & Pulse wave from Rocket Waldorf; different PW, hard sync, harmonization, hypersaw behavior. The filter is Lo-Band-Hi resonante, with a prefilter Boost stage.

A short run on Waldorf Rocket arpeggiator patterns. A lot of interesting combinations and permutations. Arpeggiator can be put under external MIDI Clock.

Analogue Systems RS-390 Echo Demo

Background video description:

I seem to have acquired a lot of eurorack delays. So I thought, let’s make some demos. These are however a lot of work. I also note I have a lot of dust on my modular! But anyway: here is the first: a demo of the Analogue Systems RS-390 echo (digital delay). I got bored with filming the synth itself, so I added a few shots of the vegetable patch on my balcony … Probably next demo will be the Pittsburgh Analog Delay. But don’t hold you breath, this may take a while.

Any suggestions for other patches to try are welcome.

Techno demo featuring the MT-40, EM-1, DrumStation and ST-224

April 21, 2013 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Techno demo featuring the MT-40, EM-1, DrumStation and ST-224

Here is a demo Jordan Passmore created with the Korg Electribe EM-1, Casio MT-40, Novation Drumstation, and Zoom SampleTrak ST-224. The EM-1 is doing the sequencing + bass/short stab sound + some percussion, the Casio is doing the square-wave lead tones, the Novation is doing the 909/808ish sounds and the SampleTrak is simply effecting the Casio with it’s effects section (I will do a more exhaustive demo of the SampleTrak soon). The Casio is also being ran through a stereo analog chorus and analog delay. There is some compression done with a Roland MMP-2 on the master channel. The entire segment was mixed on a Tascam M-1600 mixing desk.

Bebot – Robot Synth

http://apps4idevices.com/read/bebot-r…

Bebot is a feature packed polyphonic synthesiser that was the very first music app to fully utilise the full touch screen to control the sound. It has a single oscillator with 4 waveform choices and a sub oscillator with another 4 waveform options, including both one and two octave options below the main oscillator. It also offers distortion, chorus and echo effects, as well as y axis expression within the settable timbre/resonant range, and great sounding filters. There are 25 presets to get started with, but you can also save your own creations. It comes with scale presets and the option to create your own custom scales so you can simply slide your finger across the screen without playing the wrong notes. Another great feature is the ability to Autotune each note to varying degrees or choose not to use Autotune to get that great fretless sound. Bebot also is AudioBus compatible for use in the input slot, so you can directly record your performances into other compatible apps. The video below runs through most of the preset sounds and then continues on to explore all of the other options available, and the audio track shows a few examples of the expressiveness of the app using a few preset sounds. Bebot is a very impressive synth with great expressive control, and with AudioBus compatibility it is definitely a must-have synth, which makes it … A Killer App!Review by Nick Trass
