The freeware pros TAL has updated their JUNO 60 clone (not free unfortunately)
Togu Audio Line has announced the release of TAL-U-NO-LX V2, an updated version of the virtual synthesizer instrument modeled after the Roland Juno 60.
We released version 2.0 of TAL-U-NO-LX. This version includes an improved filter that is more accurate and warmer, especially at extreme values with a lot resonance. Old presets are compatible with this version. We released it as a new version that can run parallel to the old plugin.
The chorus was callibrated too. This version includes some more non-linear components and needs a bit more CPU, but we think the improved sound is worth it. This update is free for all TAL-U-NO-LX users!

- Portability mode. Also reads presets that are saved in the plugin sub folder: “/TAL-U-NO-LX/presets/”.

This work started with the simple idea of using a type written poem and then composing music to it. Over a couple of days more images and sounds were added, each inspiring the other until the piece felt complete. Surrealistic visions, poetic interludes, analog synthesizers and video, boomboxes and scrambled mind effects are all at the heart of this piece. The song is 100% analog, with all the synths and drums recorded using TR808, TR606, live sequencing the four SH101s. Visual colors and processed effects were done with an LZX visionary.

iPad JAM: GarageBand, Geo Synthesizer, iRig MIDI e Yamaha P95

Here is a JAM playing with just one iPad running GarageBand and Geo Synthesizer, with the support of Yamaha’s P95 Digital Piano and iRig MIDI. Everything was made live. A little drum loop on SmartDrums, a GB Pad called moonrise and my Lead, released with Geo Synth (Padrini Lead), with some modifications (delay, cutoff and gain).

Quick demo of the Intellijel uFade 4hp VC cross fader module.
The xfade can be used for smoothly fading between two audio or CV sources. It is a nice way to create complex waveforms out of simpler sources. It can also be used as a linear VCA or as an alternative to filtering (crossafade between a sinewave and a harmonically rich source of the same pitch).
- DC coupled linear crossfader
- External cv to control fade position
- Special circuitry limits the range of incoming cv so that the xfade boundaries are not exceeded (when summing external plus offset position)
- Switch to change direction of xfade

Happiness Project is a singular band… First there is the choice of a surprisingly joyful name for such a melancholic music. Happiness Project is the combination of electronic sounds, DiY attitude and cold-wave influences. Then, the band’s organisation itself is atypical, with two lead singers: Christelle and Fred bringing alternatively their personalities and providing duality and different emotions. Cyrille, the instrumentist of the trio, alternately programs machines and synthesizers or plays bass guitar.

Biography:
It all started with the two friends Carl and Tommy who had both been making music in various constellations since the early eighties. In 1988 they met at a party and found out they shared similar musical references, particularly synthesizer-pop music from the early Eighties. In the summer of ’93 they got together and seriously started to consider the possibilities of making music together. They decided in what way they wanted to work and a music project slowly took form at their own Graplur Studios. In the winter of ’93 they started the search for a vocalist, and a little more than one year later, after having tried out more than 40 different vocalists, Paulinda entered the studio and the last piece of the Daybehavior puzzle fell into place. Half Italian, half Swedish Paulinda was able to add even more beauty to the Daybehavior sound, turning their music into something really special with her melodic voice, and her lyrics which she mainly writes in English, but sometimes in Italian. The first album was released by the indie-label North of No South (NONS) and was distributed and released in Europe, Australia and Japan.
