Gary Numan and Officers have collaborated on a new track, ‘Petals’, set for release as an EP on November 19 via Original Wall Of Death. The EP will feature remixes of the track by Ade Fenton, Jagz Kooner and LOSERS (Eddy Temple Morris from XFM/Paul Mullen from YourCodeNameIs:Milo/Tom Bellamy from The Cooper Temple Clause). Proceeds from the digital release will go to CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), a charity working to reduce the high suicide rate of men under 35.

“It’s the first in a busy period for Numan: he’s got a new album, Splinter, due next year, as well as new versions of tracks from his 2011 album Dead Son Rising by Tim Burgess, Alec Empire, The Duke Spirit, Alessandro Cortini from Nine Inch Nails and Gazelle Twin. All this material should be previewed on his upcoming ‘Dead Moon Falling’ tour, with Officers, whose debut album On The Twelve Thrones is set for release on December 3

KORG/KID – 2012 FALL NEW PRODUCTS DIGEST MOVIE

September 26, 2012 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on KORG/KID – 2012 FALL NEW PRODUCTS DIGEST MOVIE

Brand new teaser from KORG featuring upcoming stuff – including a Hello Kitty keyboard / microPiano :-)

If you read the forums on KORG it seems that the end users are not all that happy with what has come out of the KORG labs recently, check out the quote below:

“First, let’s come out with a really awesome workstation. We’ll call it the Kronos. But let’s make it out of really cheap, recycled computer compenents. Then, let’s release an X version of this keyboard, and use slightly better, crappy computer compnents. Let’s slap on a laggy touchscreen interface and sell it for $4000. Then, right when everybody is thinking we won’t need to release another workstation for awhile, we can hit them right where it hurts, with a shittier version of the same workstation we have been working on for the last 5 years. How are we going to make it shittier? No worries, we’ll just take out all the cool sounds! But we’ll call it revolutionary, we’ll call it the answer to all their problems, and they’ll have to buy it! Best of all, we’ll give it a different name! Instead of something like Kronos LE, we’ll just call it Krome and make them think they’re getting a whole new product! It’s BRILLIANT!”

2012年秋〜冬にかけて、コルグ/KIDから発売予定の新製品、ならびにKID取扱ブランドのイチオシを一挙ご紹介。In Googlish: Autumn and winter 2012, once the jewel of the brands introduce KID handling, as well as new products will be released from Korg / KID.

Random Looping Sequencer

September 26, 2012 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Random Looping Sequencer

Here’s a demo of the Random Looping Sequencer DIY module. This patch features the RLS’ seq out multed to uscale in and envelator gate in. envelator out to borg 1… borg out to mixer and into camera. The sound source is the uncle & anti osc tripple wave folded and filtered with the z2040 and ems synthi filter clone.

The Random Sequencer is a circuit that produces random control voltages. These can be completely random, or they can be locked into loops that repeat every 8, 16 or 32 steps. It was inspired by the long history of shift register pseudorandom synth circuits, including the Triadex Muse, Buchla 266 Source of Uncertainly, Ken Stone’s gated comparator and Grant Richter’s Noisering. This circuit includes a transistor noise generator, so should create true random binary sequences. However, the structure of the sequencer and the nature of the digital-to-analog converter used seem to give a particular character – tones that rise and fall in a particular way.

Scape makes music that thinks for itself. From Brian Eno and Peter Chilvers, creators of Bloom, Scape is a new form of album which offers users deep access to its musical elements. These can be endlessly recombined to behave intelligently: reacting to each other, changing mood together, making new sonic spaces.

Can machines create original music? Scape is our answer to that question: it employs some of the sounds, processes and compositional rules that we have been using for many years and applies them in fresh combinations, to create new music. Scape makes music that thinks for itself.

Cory Henry checks out Korg Kronos X

September 26, 2012 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Cory Henry checks out Korg Kronos X

KORG has been busy during the knight here are some fresh stuff from their labs, enjoy

Solo artist and Snarky Puppy keyboardist, Cory Henry, joined us at Korg USA for a test drive of the Korg Kronos X, along with the optional EXs Expansion Sample Series libraries available at http://www.korg.com/kronossoundlibraries

As an established gospel and jazz fusion keyboardist, Cory knows the importance of having an inspiring instrument at your fingertips: “The Kronos does a great job of making you feel as if the instrument that you’re playing is right in the same room as you. Every time I browse another sound, it kind of gets me into a different place that makes me just want to play, as if I am a violin player, or if I have an actual electric piano in my house. It does a great job of making you feel that you’re playing the actual instrument.”

Demo versions of the EXs libraries are included with the Kronos X, and original Kronos users can download the demo versions from http://www.korg.com/kronos
