Electropop act Ayria has a new single out – listen to it here
The electropop/EBM project Ayria with Jennifer Parkin behind its pedals is back with the brand new single “Hunger”.
The track is the first sound from her upcoming new studio album “Plastic Makes Perfect”, which is the first new material to be released since the album “Hearts For Bullets” from 2008.
Instead of letting her fans wait for the full album, Jennifer decided to release the “Hunger” track immediately as a standalone download from both her Bandcamp site and from iTunes.
On the Bandcamp site you can immediately download the 1-track in your choice of MP3 320, FLAC, or just about any other format you could possibly desire. The digital album includes extra goodies: handwritten lyrics, the high rez cover art and the original photo from the cover.
All proceedings from the sale will go into production costs, as well as funding an upcoming video shoot for the “Hunger” song.

Modular Moogerfooger Madness
Background information:
Having some fun with a whole rack of Moogers. All sounds in this clip are generated and modulated by Moogerfoogers. Not all of them are hooked up for this patch, but the ones that are include the MF-107 FreqBox, MF-101 Low-Pass Filter, MF-102 Ring Modulator, MF-103 12-Stage Phaser, MF-105 MuRF, MF-104SD Super Analog Delay, and CP-251 Control Processor (plus EP-2 Expression Pedal).
There were some very freaky vocal sounds happening here, which made me say “I HAVE to record this.” You can hear this sound like, “yiee yiee YIPE YIPE YIPE YIPE YIPE.” Really weird (and kind of spooky when you’re in a room alone with this stuff. Don’t ask me how it was patched, I probably wouldn’t be able to get the same sound again if I tried.

Given Reason 6.5’s recent unveiling, the new Rack Extensions were, inevitably, a big topic for the event.
In the first of a series of tutorial videos from the event, resident Reason expert James Bernard shows us how to use one of those Rack Extensions – Propellerhead’s own dual-LFO unit Pulsar – as a playable synth. See how he uses it to make a classic Reese-style bass sound above.

MacBeth – touch keyboard testing
This is a demo of the touch keyboard that MacBeth is working on.
Gone is the physical stylus- now a finger with a small piece of foil is acting as the actuator! It’s fun and it works. The touch keyboard is playing the MacBeth micromac desktop unit via it’s CV inputs. I’m using a fair bit of sample and hold- LFO1 S&H is sampling the LFO2 Triangle wave- is sounds a little bit like sequences or arpeggios. I’m also usin the CV from the touch keyboard to control the speed of LFO1- at the very bottom of the keyboard- it’s 0 Volts- at the top it’s about 3 and half volts- so the LFO speeds up and slows down accordinly. I hope that you enjoy the product development!
