Static Friction – new ‘tech house’ expansion pack for Maschine
Native Instruments has released Static Friction a new ‘tech house’ expansion pack for Maschine.
The Expansion features 33 drum kits loaded with new kicks, snares, hi-hats, and claps, as well as seven Special Kits containing analog spring reverb samples, Ride and Snare kits optimized for live performance, and additional Spoken and Radio Voice Kits for additional textures.
New Massive presets provide basses, leads, pads, and effects for added variety.
Static Friction is available for Maschine and Maschine Mikro. A compact version is also available for iMaschine.
Static Friction is available at the NI Online Shop for US $49 / 49 Euro. An iMaschine version is available in the in-app store for US $0.99 / 0,89 Euro.
Sugar Bytes – Effectrix Synth Live

Sugar Bytes describes Effectrix as “as a musical instrument with lots of possibilities for different expressions of existing material. Sounds of any kind can be transformed to exciting beat structures and soundscapes.”
Effectrix lets you do advanced looping – loops can also be scratched, stretched, reversed or modulated in loopsize and pitch.

In this demo and walkthrough I show a little bit of the features of Addictive Synth by VirSyn. I like this app and find it has a great sound as well as some interesting features. The only thing I didn’t like is the inability to select Midi input apps, I recommend using MidiBridge to get your apps working if you are having problems.

About the Newscool:
Newscool is a REAKTOR classic. The sound engine consists of a tone generator and a multi-effects unit. The innovative sequencer is based on the Life model developed by John Conway in the 1970s.
A two-dimensional pattern is processed in steps: An element of the pattern becomes alive in the following step if at least three of its eight neighbors are alive in the current step.
Accelerator goes Analog
Here is a Single patch on the Accelerator that attempted to replicate the sound of a Roland Jupiter-8. Chords were played over a sequenced portion of the same patch.
With clever programing a digital synth can sound really analog.

Live recorded jam session; mainly to demonstrate some analog/hybrid synths.
“Unfortunately since I had only 1 hand free I couldn’t tweak that much realtime and also had to move fast on switching between synths, so there might be some delays. Only pre-recorded tracks were the drums and the synth midi tracks, which was basically 1 loop. This is not a worked-out track, but maybe I will do so one day 
No effects used, only some minor mastering/compression on the total mix.”

New England Analog Pyxis Bass Demo
This is a video of NE playing around with their prototype external touch pad for the NEA Pyxis aftertouch system.
“This one here is our test model. The sensor pad has many unique capabilities when interfaced with the Pyxis controller. This video is to demonstrate the percussive effects that are possible with the Pyxis. The tapping effect is created by routing the output voltage from the sensor pad to the vca and vcf. The more of the sensor signal that gets sent to either, the more pronounced the effect. Keep in mind that this is not intended to be a musically coherent demonstration, but a demonstration of the capabilities of the instrument.
