Hello there!! I’m back with another experiment !! This time I wanted to take myself into my childhood and show you my hero of all times, KITT !! 
Every week I waited in front of TV for my favorite TV series called “Knight Rider”… During my life I little bit forgot on this great series and today I’m here, with my Korg and with my “try” to make a cover of awesome theme. The Alpha Syntauri was a music system designed around the expansion capabilities of the Apple ][. The hardware consisted of an external piano-style keyboard, with a 3-card set that plugged into the Apple ][, including a keyboard interface card, and the two-board Mountain Computer Music System. Software was designed to support music composition and performance.

They are much, much better at that sort of thing than I, what with doing it for a living and all, and the alphaSynth set is available in several formats, including Live Rack, Kontakt, and ESX Universal.

Benga – I Will Never Change
“When we were asked to pitch on the promo they sent us the track as a ‘Soundcloud’ link, we usually get it sent as an MP3. For the first time we were not just listening to the track we were also watching it. There was something mesmerising about this in its simplicity. This ignited the idea to create a real life three dimensional waveform. We started to think about the fact that a vast amount of our music is consumed online and has lost a sense of physicality this lead us to the idea of using vinyl records. We also loved the way it related to Benga as an artist who’s background comes from using records as a DJ or producer.
The maths worked we would need 960 records to create 1 minute and 20 seconds worth of wave form. Each one had to be individually cut to a specific size, hand labeled, hand numbered and then finally polished. This prep took 7 full working days and then the animation process took around 30 hours.
To animate the wave form, we built it and then carefully removed each individual record. This had to be done very gently as any shift in the position of the sculpture would result in the failure of the animation and as we had to literally destroy each piece of vinyl to get it off, there was only one chance to get it right. Once the sculpture was finally built, the animation process took about 30 hours.”

It has been used by The Cure, Howard Jones, Flock of Seagulls, Eurythmics and more. Among the first in Roland’s amazing JUNO family! Six analog voices of polyphony and patch memory storage!! The JUNO-60 sounds great, however, like the JUNO-6 it lacks MIDI control. The JUNO-60 includes 56 patches of memory storage. The JUNO-60 is still popular due in part to opinions that it sounds better (punchier) than the JUNO-106. The JUNO-6 and 60 are very rich sounding synthesizers and are great analog machines as long as you can withstand the absence of MIDI control. The JSQ-60 sequencer is an external sequencer controller for the JUNO-60 and is usually worth acquiring. Of course nobody can deny that the wooden side panel look is a true sign of Vintage status!
New S.P.O.C.K compilation: ‘Another Piece of the Action: Best of the SubSpace Years’
In the past decade Sweden’s most successful synthpop export product S.P.O.C.K released an album every second year. The last S.P.O.C.K album was released in 2001, since then it has been very silent around the band. The band still keeps on playing live, and since they’ve been invited to the biggest synth festival in North America, Kinitek which took place between May 17 til May 20, they decided to assemble a compilation to a market where the material has been hard to acquire since most of the S.P.O.C.K catalogue has been long deleted.
“Another Piece of the Action: Best of the SubSpace Years” features tracks taken from the 3 albums released on their own record label SubSpace Communications, and include hard-to-find songs and versions, such as singles previously not digitally released, remastered stuff and the best album tracks. The comp has a total running time of 80 minutes and will be available as digital download as well as a limited edition relief digipak CD and transparent double vinyl LP. The album will be released on the 5th of June. You can pre-order the CD at Storming The Base.
dlab releases APG Composer – free iPad synth
dlab has released APG Composer, which they describe as an app that combines a 3-voice FM synthesizer with an implementation of the Logique Analogique sequencer, which triggers notes when a weighted sum of different signals exceeds a threshold.

ARP Omni-2 – the classic Joy Division keyboard
“When I was a teenager in the mid-1980s, like many of my teenager friends I was very fascinated by Joy Division, in particular by their album “Closer”. I remember that in those days I used to put Closer on the turntable, turn off the lights in my room, and fall asleep to the music. The music from Closer was very beautiful and hypnotic, and left a big impression on me. In particular I loved the synth strings used in that album. It was the ARP Omni-2, also used in other songs by the band. A great album, a great performance by the band, a masterful production by Martin Hannett, and a big influence for my music since those days..”
The Omni is an analog synth with preset Orchestral String sounds. It has polyphonic Violin and Viola waveforms as well as monophonic Bass and Cello waveforms. It is split into 3 sections: Strings, Synthesizer, and Bass synth – all simultaneously available. It has traditional and simple VCA, VCF, and LFO controls for contouring your sounds as well as a nice chorus that really thickens up the string sound. It has no program memory.
ARP later released the Omni Mk 2. It was basically the same machine as its predecessor, except for a few minor enhancements and a cosmetic Orange & Black color-scheme upgrade. And it did have a much more advanced triggering system for the VCF and VCA for more expressive results.
