Cubasis Demo: Recording Audio using Audiobus
A quick demo of recording Audio into Cubasis using Audiobus. In this video Ryan Hemeon has downloaded the master tracks to a Nine Inch Nails song (Wish from the Broken Album) and opened them in Cubasis..
“I remove the guitar from the song and record my own using the Apogee Jam, Ampkit and Audiobus. After recording I play the song through, add a few FX and mess with the mixer a tiny bit.
I used ‘picture in picture’ so you can see me playing the guitar as well. I will doing more PiP videos from now on. I liked how it turned out.

Silent Way is a suite of plug-ins designed for use with analogue synthesisers, and especially as part of a modular analogue synthesiser system. The plug-ins produce no sound themselves, nor do they process sound – rather, they generate signals to be used as control voltages (CVs), which can be patched into the control inputs of oscillators, filters, VCAs etc. of an analogue system. Also, with the addition of the CV Input plug-in, it is possible to bring CVs from the synth into the computer, for recording or processing.
There are currently eighteen plug-ins in the Silent Way suite – Silent Way AC Encoder, Silent Way CV Input, Silent Way CV To MIDI, Silent Way CV To OSC , Silent Way DC, Silent Way ES-4 Controller, Silent Way ES-5 Controller, Silent Way ESX-4CV Combiner, Silent Way Follower, Silent Way Learner, Silent Way LFO, Silent Way Quantizer, Silent Way SMUX, Silent Way Soundplane, Silent Way Step LFO, Silent Way Sync , Silent Way Trigger and Silent Way Voice Controller. We spent a day with Teddy, where he showed us around Future Recording Studios 2 and played us a brand new version of Guy’s 1988 hit ‘Teddy’s Jam’ on the Novation MiniNova.
Teddy Riley has always had the cutting edge on production. Highlights of his career include forming R&B super groups Guy and Blackstreet, co-producing and co-engineering Michael Jackson’s Dangerous album (which has sold over 32 million copies) winning Riley a Grammy for Best Engineering non-classical. He has produced countless landmark records, such as the LP “Make it Last” Keith Sweat, Bobby Brown’s ‘My Perogative’, Johnny Kemp “Just Got Paid”, Blackstreet “No Diggity”, The Hip Hop Classic “The Show”, “Rugrats” The Movie and hit after hit for the late Heavy D and a long list of others.

Connecting the MS-20 Mini to Eurorack via an English Tear
It’s an English Tear, new module forthcoming from The Harvestman. It’s basically a converter module so that you can use to convert eurorack 1v/oct to ms-20 Hz/Volt and vice versa.

A few people have asked for more DW-8000 videos, so here you go. It’s just a quick, live improvisation with a nice DW-8000 resonant pad with slow LFO detuning, the standard DX bass, and a LinnDrum pattern.
Time machine: ROLAND TR-505 Vintage Drum Machine 1986
The Roland TR-505 is a little programmable digital drum machine from 1986. This demo shows some of AnalogAudio1’s own patterns.
Accent is programmable. It’s some kind of mini-combination of a TR-707 and TR-727 since it has percussion sounds in addition. It has similar sounds. It has MIDI but no single outputs and no Roland SYNC-Interface. Shuffle functions available.
A cheap (budget) drum machine. It features 16 drum tones which unfortunately, are only mediocre samples. Its memory contains 48 patterns and 6 songs. Unlike its TR cousins it does not have individual drum tone outputs. There is no drum tone editing capability either. It does however feature extensive MIDI implementation, even the pads will transmit MIDI data. The 505 works well with a computer and sequencer or as a stand alone drum machine. It is extremely basic and unexciting but does make a good starter or play-along drum machine.
