Bolsa Bass – Critter & Guitari

Website: http://critterandguitari.com/bolsabass

The Critter & Guitari Bolsa Bass synthesizer features six modes of rich, elemental bass sound, a sequencer and full MIDI capabilities.

The six synthesis modes are:
Circle Ramp
Sawtooth Ramp
Analog Style
Filter Envelope
FM Pad
Bass Delay

The sequencer lets you quickly create bass lines with the touch of a button. You can even record and playback knob adjustments for things like filter sweeps and changes in delay time or tuning! With MIDI IN and OUT jacks you can synchronize your sequences with other devices. The Bolsa Bass also sends and receives note messages so you can use it as a sound module or simple controller.

The entire keyboard may be tuned over a 1-octave range by turning the knob second from right. Volume is controlled by the right-most knob. The function of the remaining two left knobs depend on what mode is selected. The synthesizer modes provide elemental monophonic bass sounds, great for all kinds of musical scenarios. From classic filter sweeps to simple and pure tones, lush FM, and even a stretchy tuned delay which makes great string-like drones.

Cubasis Demo: Recording Audio using Audiobus

June 9, 2013 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Cubasis Demo: Recording Audio using Audiobus

A quick demo of recording Audio into Cubasis using Audiobus. In this video Ryan Hemeon has downloaded the master tracks to a Nine Inch Nails song (Wish from the Broken Album) and opened them in Cubasis..

“I remove the guitar from the song and record my own using the Apogee Jam, Ampkit and Audiobus. After recording I play the song through, add a few FX and mess with the mixer a tiny bit.

I used ‘picture in picture’ so you can see me playing the guitar as well. I will doing more PiP videos from now on. I liked how it turned out. :-)

Expect some more Cubasis tutorials soon. They are on their way!”

Silent Way Rack Extension Teaser

June 8, 2013 · Posted in Uncategorized · Comments Off on Silent Way Rack Extension Teaser

Silent Way Voice Controller, part of the Silent Way plug-in suite, will soon be available as a Rack Extension for Propellerhead Reason. Silent Way offers deep control over analog synthesizers direct from your DAW.

For more information on Silent Way, see
http://www.expert-sleepers.co.uk/sile…

Silent Way is a suite of plug-ins designed for use with analogue synthesisers, and especially as part of a modular analogue synthesiser system. The plug-ins produce no sound themselves, nor do they process sound – rather, they generate signals to be used as control voltages (CVs), which can be patched into the control inputs of oscillators, filters, VCAs etc. of an analogue system. Also, with the addition of the CV Input plug-in, it is possible to bring CVs from the synth into the computer, for recording or processing.

There are currently eighteen plug-ins in the Silent Way suite – Silent Way AC Encoder, Silent Way CV Input, Silent Way CV To MIDI, Silent Way CV To OSC , Silent Way DC, Silent Way ES-4 Controller, Silent Way ES-5 Controller, Silent Way ESX-4CV Combiner, Silent Way Follower, Silent Way Learner, Silent Way LFO, Silent Way Quantizer, Silent Way SMUX, Silent Way Soundplane, Silent Way Step LFO, Silent Way Sync , Silent Way Trigger and Silent Way Voice Controller. These are described in more detail below. It is anticipated that more plug-ins will be added to the suite in the future – watch the website for product announcements.

Focusrite & Novation present: In the studio with Teddy Riley

We spent a day with Teddy, where he showed us around Future Recording Studios 2 and played us a brand new version of Guy’s 1988 hit ‘Teddy’s Jam’ on the Novation MiniNova.

Teddy Riley has always had the cutting edge on production. Highlights of his career include forming R&B super groups Guy and Blackstreet, co-producing and co-engineering Michael Jackson’s Dangerous album (which has sold over 32 million copies) winning Riley a Grammy for Best Engineering non-classical. He has produced countless landmark records, such as the LP “Make it Last” Keith Sweat, Bobby Brown’s ‘My Perogative’, Johnny Kemp “Just Got Paid”, Blackstreet “No Diggity”, The Hip Hop Classic “The Show”, “Rugrats” The Movie and hit after hit for the late Heavy D and a long list of others.

Novation MiniNova Overview:
http://novationmusic.com/hardware-syn
MiniNova is a compact, super-cool studio and live synth with the same sound engine as its big brother; UltraNova. It comes with 256 incredible onboard sounds that you can tweak with five knobs, or totally warp with eight ‘animate’ buttons. It has up to 18 voices with as many as five synth effects on each sound. MiniNova also has an onboard VocalTune™ effect as well as a classic vocoder so you can recreate iconic vocal sounds from hip hop, urban and electronic music.

Novation SL MkII Overview:
http://novationmusic.com/midi-control
SL MkII is the advanced range of USB/MIDI controllers from Novation. They have been designed to give you complete control over your music making software. We have worked with each of the main DAWs to make sure each of the 56 knobs, faders and buttons control the things in your software that you need them to control including directly access to your plug-in instruments and FX (you also get an Italian made, semi-weighted keyboard mechanism).

Focusrite Control 2802 Overview:
http://focusrite.com/consoles/control
Control 2802 is a super-flexible analogue console and an Ethernet-based DAW control surface in one. Precision analogue audio architecture delivers a superb, big studio sound, while Control 2802 demonstrates extraordinarily versatile routing capability, with cues and auxes available to provide up to 32 mix inputs and a DAW-integrated two-part in-line-style channel. Ethernet-connected HUI control layer allows DAW operation right from the console. There’s no other small-format console quite like Control 2802: nothing sounds like it, and nothing offers this level of design sophistication, flexibility and control.
