“This used to be an ordinary home organ. But I converted it into a portable model that sits on a stand. It’s now so lightweight that I can carry it under one arm. But if you look what’s inside this late 1980’s organ you can see why: Two circuit boards, a small transformer, two rows of thin plastic keys, and some rubber buttons. That’s it.
I have had it for twelve years and while I rarely used it as a lead instrument it found it’s way into many of my recordings.
This musical item is one of the few examples I have where the Viscount plays both melody, bass, and rhythm. The song is called Dove and I have been told that it was a hit for an Italian singer that called herself Moony. The other parts of arrangement is played on Yamaha HE-8 organ and Roland JX-8P synthesizer. I recorded it in 2003 on my Fostex 8-channel tape machine.”
Time machine – Moog Prodigy
Time for a new time machine episode – A voyage into the heart of the Moog Prodigy from the year 1979.

The Prodigy was an entry-level monosynth from Moog, which has since become a very popular and widely used Bass-synth in techno and electronic music. It was designed as an affordable dual-oscillator synth. It was, however, designed without any help from Bob Moog himself. But that didn’t stop the Prodigy from becoming an excellent analog synth!
Its simple yet effective design employs two voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) with saw, triangle and pulse waveforms…all classic analog stuff! There’s also a genuine Moog 24dB / octave lowpass filter (emphasis), A/D/S envelope generator, and LFO with square or triangle waveforms and routing to the VCF, VCO or both! Even Portamento, Pitch and Mod wheels. To save money there are no highly flexible modulation routings, no on-board sequencers or arpeggiators, and a simple 32 note keyboard.

We recorded this video already two years ago but we lost it in a hard drive crash and everything fizzled out. The recordings were forgotten but when I (Tori) earlier this summer, came to think of it I called the film producer, and asked for any excess material that he managed to save. Then I cut it and tried to make something funny out of it.
Any new album from the band may take a while but the group’s drummer and songwriter Anders Alexander makes August 15 solo debut under the name Slangbella.

This may or may not be, the 1st and only video that I’m uploading, showing off the Serge Universal Slope Generator and some of the 14 functions that it can do. 
(I know I uploaded another almost a year ago.) There are a few functions that I barely touched in this one and others that I didn’t at all, but the first couple of functions I went into a little bit of detail … hence the 22 minute length of this bloody video! 😮 Lol.
If you’re a DIY modular builder – get yourself online and order yourself up some of the PCB that makes these guys! For the USG – 2 of them on a single PCB for $30! Parts on top of that? Another $20-30 maybe? http://www.cgs.synth.net/ be the place. Full authorization from Mr. Serge Tcherepnin for Ken Stone to provide these as well as a few other Serge PCBs. I don’t know of any other place where you can get these top notch quality boards legally, for any cheaper.

Covenant on extensive August tour in North America
The Swedish synthie/electro act Covenant returns to North America this August as they embark on a 20 date tour, including a special extended/rarities set performance at one of their California shows. The band comes with a newly revised line-up which now includes Daniel Jonasson from Dupont. Jonasson will replace Joakim Montelius live.
The tour kicks off August 20 in Chicago and ends off with dates in South America which will be confirmed pretty soon.
