Sinevibes introduces Circuit for OS X
Multi-Band Waveshape Modelling Plug-In
Sinevibes has announced Circuit, its newest AudioUnit effect plug-in designed for multi-band waveshape modelling. Circuit splits the signal into three frequency bands, and passes each band through its own processing engine, which offers 12 different models – from sine-based transformers and foldback distortion, to circuit-bent filters, lo-fi and ring modulation. These models can be put in motion by an envelope follower, tempo-synchronized modulator or two-dimensional Lorenz chaos generator.
Sinevibes says that all of these features are wrapped into a fun and simple to use, yet stylish colour-coded interface, which features the company’s innovative new design language. Circuit is also based on a future-proof graphics engine that supports the Retina MacBook Pro and of course all forthcoming high-resolution Mac computers.

Circuit will be available in October 2012 as an AudioUnit plugin for OS X 10.5 or later (Intel 32/64 bit). It can be pre-ordered for just $19. Experimental: Sonification of Everday Things

This is a serious musical instrument. It rotates everyday things, scans their surfaces, and transforms them into audible frequencies. A variety of everyday objects can be mounted into the instrument. Their silhouettes define loops, melodies and rhythms. Thus mundane things are reinterpreted as musical notation. Playing the instrument is a mixture of practice, anticipation, and serendipity.
The instrument was built from aluminum tubes, white POM, black acrylic glass, a high precision distance measuring laser ( with the kind support of Micro-Epsilon ), a stepper motor, and a few bits and bobs.
A custom programmed translator and controller module, written in processing, transforms the measured distance values into audible frequencies, notes, and scales. It also precisely controlls the stepper-motor’s speed to sync with other instruments and musicians.

Korg Monotron LFO synchronized to Roland TR-626
The LFO of a Korg Monotron is synchronized to the trigger output of a Roland TR-626 drum machine. The retrigger of the Monotron LFO is the red wire. The sync mod is done like shown here: http://stevewoodward.posterous.com/lfo-reset-point-on-korg-monotron
In this video the TR-626 is started and stopped. The rhythm rate is also varied.
Futureretro 777, MPC-60 (Oberheim DMX Sampled) Acid Funk Demo by Jordan Passmore
Here is a brief demo of the Futureretro 777 monophonic analog synthesizer/sequencer and the Akai MPC-60 sampler/sequencer. The 777 is running off of it’s internal sequencer and is sync’d via MIDI clock to the MPC-60. The MPC-60 has a sampled set of Oberheim DMX sounds. The delay that the 777 and drums are sent to is the Ibanez DMD2000. All are mixed on my StudioMaster mixer and sent straight to my soundcard (Native Instruments Kore 1).
